2011 Shelby GT 350.... Good Lord....
$55k for a Mustang (GT500)....? Yeah sure, it's a bit steep but the car is incredible.
$70k for a Mustang....? Absolutely: Here is the package summary This gallery includes a video with the man himself There is a package available, sans supercharger, for $27k on top of base vehicle price (with S/C is $34k). So, really, you can have a "genuine" GT350 for about $59k. Not bad. I'm still trying to find out what the numbers are from the S/C on that 5.0, but even without the FI, this car is apparently just nasty. And you KNOW this is going to be a hot car for a long time.... I personally really like the car and its appearance. Then again, I am kind of a redneck, and grew up in the shadow of the Big 3. The other day I asked my wife (jokingly) if I could grow a mullet. If there had been a weapon within arm's reach, I would no longer be here. |

That is the first S/C application on the new 5.0 motor platform. Supposedly Ford had to put Shelby on a power limit as the early test cars were making way more power than the GT500. I like the hood and center exhaust. Most of the rest looks a little to stuck on. Doesn't flow well. $70k for a Mustang is crazy.

The only way I could imagine spending 70 on this would be to just put it away for a few decades and hope that it was good investment. No likey Moe, Larry and Curly gauges on any car. Last edited by gonzo; 06-24-2010 at 06:18 PM.. |

Nice car, but I'd rather have a Z06 for that price.

Sick looking as is the performance. But, could YOU live with that interior every day?!?!
I could not.

The quality of materials and fitment in the new Mustangs is at least as good as in my 2008 335.... The Mustang has a much sportier and retro look to it, while the BMW's aim is to be spartan and simple and boring, but I don't mind the Mustang's interior at all. I guess if you can stand the visual loudness of it, you can live with it. |

on an OEM car, no excuse these days for being that lazy/cheap in their design only pic I have for comparison (note: the ugly boost controller hacked into the dash will be replaced by an eboost2 which doubles as a boost gauge....will have to replace that section of the dash ):

Yeah those are a real eyesore, and I was surprised to see them approved into the final product. I literally made an "eww" face when I saw them, but the rest of the car is great IMO. However, that's a pretty large visual blemish.

I also hate the retro gauges.

The exterior reminds me of one of those fugly reiger kits and the interior looks tacky to me, especially the seats and dash trim. Nothing more needs to be said about the gauges

I also thought Ford would have placed the radio antenna into the rear window like just about every other manufacturer has done by now. That black antenna sticking out of the right rear quarter panel just looks plain ridiculous. They should have just charged 10 bucks more per mustang and incorporated the antenna into the rear window.
