He is doing just fine.

Of course his girlfriend is hot. I'd be willing to bet the money preceded her. Rich guys always get the hot women.

His dinner receipt resembles what mine often look like - more money spent on wine/alcohol than on food. Of course, I mean as a percentage. I haven't spent what the average person earns in a year just for dinner.

the guy did what he had to do and took advantage of the new government (no proper regulations, loose government, etc.) when the union fell apart. good for him, straight hustler.

here's the wiki article of the said yacht with all the frills:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclipse_(yacht)

Eclipse has two helicopter pads, 11 guest cabins, two swimming pools, several hot tubs and a disco hall. She also comes equipped with three launch boats, and a mini-submarine that is capable of submerging to 50 meters. Approximately 70 crew members are needed to operate the yacht.

For security, Eclipse is fitted with intruder detection systems and a German-built missile defense system. The windows in Abramovich's master suite and the yacht's bridge are also fitted with bullet-proof glass and both are armor plated.

The yacht is also equipped with an anti-paparazzi shield in the form of lasers that sweep the surroundings, and when they detect a CCD, they fire a bolt of light right at the camera to obliterate any photograph. According to The Times, these don’t run all the time, so friends and guests should still be able to grab snaps. Instead, they will be activated when guards spot likely professional photographers nearby.

also:

Abramovich also owns three Eurocopter helicopters, all with Aruba registration as well

His current private aircraft is an Airbus A340-300, named 'Bourkhan'. It is the last aircraft of this type to be delivered by Airbus.

In 2004 Abramovich bought two Maybach 62 limousines. They were customized to be bomb & bullet-proof. They were reported to have cost £1 million (€1.18 million/US$1.65 million).

Abramovich also owns a Ferrari FXX, a US$2.2 million (€1.57 million) "racetrack-only" car, of which only 30 were built. He also owns a Bugatti Veyron (blue on black), Maserati MC12 Corsa, Ferrari 360, Porsche Carrera GT, Porsche 911 GT1 and a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR.

yup, that's where i got the details from knows how to spend his money. i would do the same, but some of mine would go to charity as well.

i think i saw this yacht (ANOTHER of his) moored at this beach last year (i visit this beach like every year on vacation lol)

actually, it had the exact same design but i think it was smaller (no space for a boat i still couldn't afford on the back lol) so it might have been one of his rich russian friends :P. (i think he donated the yacht in the picture above to a business friend of something)

then he threw are party one night, i wasn't there, but I saw the skylights and heard the music. I'm not sure if he was actually there. Hell, he probably forgot he owns a beach here.

this is the beach club: http://www.funbeachclub.com/ (its mangled english :P)
it's really nice, water is crystal clear but cold. soft golden sand is nice as well. last year we got a VIP pass because it used to be free before they built the club (and we were residents before then), but this year we only get 50% off. it's 20 bucks for entry (per person, but you get an umbrella and big comfy beanie chairs). don't even go near the food, you can get a 330mL of can of coke for about 4$ US. you can also rent stuff like sea doos for 50 bucks/10 minutes. ballers only. :P

i saw a russian menu somewhere, and there are very few if any russian tourists here, so maybe he does visit from time to time

This one is awesome, I like it much more than that unnecessary behemoth of a boat...

Nobody needs a 400+ foot yacht, completely idiotic. That's what happens when you just don't know what to do with all your money.

Why not donate some to charity, contribute to 1,000s of causes out there...

but then you won't get a german engineered missile defense system :P

he has so much money anyway he could donate the price of the yacht on top of buying it if he wanted to.

My understanding is that back in the day Putin nationalized all of the oil and gas companies. Then he re-privatized them by selling them back to young guys who are tied to the FSB/KGB.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I didn't spend much time on it and wouldn't take it seriously had I just stumbled upon it. With that much money, he could have paid someone to do a better job developing a stupid website.
