Tactical Gear....anyone own any?
This thread is destined for failure, but I'm wondering if anyone here owns any tactical gear. I'm looking at tactical bags and flashlights and was curious if anyone here had any recommendations or whatnot.
Currently looking at a 5.11 PUSH pack or Maxped Fatboy S-type and Surefire E2D tactical light. The bag would be mostly for field work but also short hikes, bike/trail rides, and probably for throwing some padding in and toting my dSLR downtown.

WAY too much stuff in my gear closet......
I really like Kifaru for packs (www.kifaru.net) and Tactical Tailor and SKT Industries for everything else (www.tacticaltailor.com www.sktindustries.com) Surefire is the way to go for flashlights. My EDC light is a Surefire Kroma. I'm too lazy/tired right now to give you any specific recommendations though.....

Thanks, Scott. Those Kifaru packs look huge!
Anyone ever used Fenix tactical lights? Their TK-10 looks pretty decent and has enough light output and battery life when set to 'low.' http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/...NTY-38p655.htm Considering the Jumbo Versipack now. I think it's still too small to fit my CF-19, though. It looks a little less murse-like than the 5.11 PUSH pack (and the Fatboy Versipack that it's copied from). http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/...SIPACK-4p6.htm

About flashlights
If you want a thrower, consider JetBeam M1X. I had it for about a year now, high quality build and plenty of lumens for search/surveillance type of thing. I am getting a combat grip/cell extender in the mail, so that will be "tactical as hell" |

Depends on which one you go with. I've got the following:
EMR - This thing is HUGE! 7,500 cubic inches! Marauder - Mid size panel pack with tons of organizing potential. 2,500 CI. Love it. E&E - Tiny day pack that I use for my long range rifle supplies. 1,000 CI. Quote:
Anyway, pretty decent bag, but it does look like a "murse". And I seriously doubt you'd fit a laptop in it. Maybe something as big as an iPad or smaller netbook. Try to find one locally to go "hands-on" and see if it would work for you.
