They wouldn't tell us anything about it though. Not sure what they were showcasing it but BMW's head designer was accompanying the car. You can see him in the first picture behind the car.

Diesel + Electric would be a big winner. The cost is prohibitive for most automakers, but BMW has such a premium $$ due to their prestige, they could probably get away with it.

I would love to see the diesel lag compensated for by using instant torque of an electric motor!!

Funny how the screen on the dash shows iTunes...

Even though this will not be an actual model, its great to know that this is the direction BMW wants to take with design and engineering. I am curious and excited as to what BMW will put out 10, 20 years from now. I also occasionally think about the fact that the 335is I just bought might be my last gasoline internal combustion engine automobile, a bitter sweet transition which will be for the better.

I'd love to see the next-gen iDrive completely done by Apple. Like Ford's Microsoft SYNC. But chances of that are probably the same as the next-gen M3 being a NA V8

What a gorgeous car, im looking forward to seeing the production version in the streets in the naer future.
Love the steering wheel, that would be sweet as a factory option for all Bimmers.

No, more chance to see next iDrive made by Apple, than next M3 with NA engine, whether V8 or I6.

It won't be using Apple OS for iDrive, BMW will be using Nokia & Intel's MeeGo OS
