Some people have more money than sense. He could have driven to Germany from Bern and drive as fast as he could on the autobahn.

If the ticket cost more than the car whats the point of paying it when he can just get another one. They need to revoke his license in order for this to work.

I'm sure that's a great incentive to be successful in life. And yeah I have no idea what copy means.

I think there might be a translation breakdown - maybe Javi can translate for us!
I think they meant it was not a real AMG but the speed makes me think it was, but then again Switzerand (and Sweden) use KMH not MPH so he would have been doing 110MPH in a 45MPH zone which is more doable in a stock MB dressed as an AMG. |

OP was almost right - the driver was Swedish!!
Found another source which tells the story a little better. Obviously not a copy and completely wipes out my previous theory. http://www.thelocal.se/28272/20100809/ |

I guess this is possible but the rest of the story and the pictures are inconsistent with it, they only use the term copy once. I'm just gonna guess it's a typo/editor jargon that accidentally made the final cut

Sounds about right for car hating swiss. They have no tolerance at all for speeding or cars in general. I read some place that you can not even wash your car at home or modify it in any way ever. Even appearance mods. They rather everyone go back to horse and buggy I guess. They are a tax haven though.

As mentioned, I see no point in paying the fine, easier to just buy another merc, and the police will keep this one, turn it into a police car = in the end, everyone is happy
