Look what this potential buyer emailed me (Craiglist Content)
What do you guys think? Real or Bullshit?
I basically posted up my VRS Front lip for sale. An interested buyer emailed me back saying Him: "Still available for sale?" Me: "Of course" Him: "Hi, thanks for your response. Im going on a vacation to London but I will instruct my assistant to prepare and mail your payment which Im sure you will get in about 4 -6 business days. I'll add 20$ extra for the delay. I'll pay by M O or cashier check so send me your info (i.e full name, mailling address and your phone number) so payment can be mailed out immediately. I will also make arrangement for pick up which will be after you must have received and cashed the payment. Awaiting your info. Rhoda I call BS on this. Any advice?

his response was way too well thought out to be real and he didnt even mention what hes buying. Most car guys wouldve at least said "hold onto the lip, i really want it" or something like that

I agree it's a scam. I've seen this response before in my CL adds too. But can someone please explain how it works? If they send you a MO or Cashier's check before you send them your item for sale, how do they end up screwing you? Do you have to put money down before you can get the MO or Cashier's check?

They send a fake Cashiers check and when the bank figures it out after you cash it, you are stuck paying for what it was worth. They have nowhere to trace it to since it is fake. He will ask you to send the part out before it clears and that is how it works.

I'd like to put a bullet between the eyes of each of these thieves.
When I was trying to sell my phone on Craigslist all the emails I received were scammers. Hell these people even 'patrol' the Facebook Marketplace and have fake scammer accounts. It helps if you type your email like this: johndoe (at) hotmail (dot) com |

so lets fuck with these people and have them send the MO to some bullshit address. Then tell them you never got the money order and have them send it again and again. Tell them it needs to be sent by US Postal Mail. At least this way the US Post Office is making some postage revenue off these assholes.
