How I'd fight with a lightsaber
so I was watching Star Wars Episode III
and I'm watching the fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan and I am thinking this is so bad ass! And then it occurred to me that no Jedi/Sith has ever thought of pulling the following: all these awesome fights, and no one thought of doing this? PS: I suck at paint, so this is the best I could do I welcome upgrades to this

Well...you could take it a step further and say since the Jedi have the force why not just swing the lightsaber from a distance and use the force to control its movement. But that wouldn't make a very exciting movie.

yeah.. I never understood why they don't just kill each other with force powers
if i had the force, I wouldn't even walk.. I'd lift myself everywhere using the force

I happen to be testing my new movie room I built in our basement using the original Star Wars Movie, it look great and sounded great...
But I was always underwhelmed with the whole LightSaber thing, but then again I notice the CP30 and R2D2 both walk through laser fire and never got hit image doing that with machine gun fire. But these Star Wars geek are at about the same mental level as the kids who use to watch Bugs and Elmer shoot each other and think they can shot their friends and they would not die since Elmer always survived. |

This was actually covered in a Star Wars Book called I, Jedi. The protagonist built his light sabre to extend double length and he essentially impaled everyone. Yes, the dork is strong in this one

I loved that book. One of my favorite Star Wars novels. I'm thinking back now and DAMN that was a good book. Almost feel like reading it again.

Also a great movie. Do you remember the series that Kyle Maclaughlin got his start in?

There's a term they use called the "force shield" - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force...d_%28mental%29
It basically gives them a way out of being pushed around by the force while they are focused. In saber combat, they basically learn to protect against cheap shots like that. |
