3D TV
Anybody have one? Is it worth it? Bestbuy is running a special $1,799 for the tv, 2 pairs extra glasses, and a 3D blueray player. I'm thinking about purchasing just need some feedback first. Thanks!

Best advice would be to wait for the next wave of technology. If you are fiending for 3d tv, go buy a 3d monitor for your computer. get a taste of it. Then once:
A: Television Programming catches up B: Technology catches up. GoogleTV will be implmented into upcoming tv sets. I'd wait for it. I have a 22" 3d computer monitor with nVidia 3d vision. Its pretty cool but limited use ATM. |

Price isnt bad for the newest technology..but its always dicey being the first in the pool...remember when they included a new format for HD (adding 1080p)? Stuff like that.

I have a 55" samsung led 3d tv... I think it is awesome... it also gives you the option to turn on 3d when you want so basically you can watch anything on tv in 3d. I think it is awesome.

3d is so overrated imo and ready for this fad to disappear. But, if you're serious about 3D Plasma is the ONLY way to go. Read everything you can and everything says plasma displays 3d far better than any LED-LCD. |

I have a Plasma Panasonic and love it..i've not seen a better image after setting it up right..
I have two tips before u start using it: 1) make sure to burn it in properly..i used an sd card with different color images and let the tv burn in by having the images displayed in short intervals...check the web. 2) after its burned in and you've watched it for a couple weeks, calibrate it. Either by a professional or based on settings you can find on the internet. If you do those things ur plasma tv is gonna rock. |

Have samsung 3d plasma 7000 series.
3d picture quality is awesome, but never had a good movie to watch in 3d yet. I got mine with promotion at $1600 with blueray player and pair of 3d glasses. Very good deal IMO. |

I Just picked up an LED backlit LCD monitor for my computer. Samsung. That thing is ridiculously crisp, bright, and vivid. Also, it starts up instantaneously. On the other hand, my eyes are burning and I think I'm going effen blind because its so bright.

'converted' 3d content will not be great. It will have the effect but won't be worth the hassle. Content created with 3d in mind will have a better finish and will be a primary reason for wearing the glasses. The problem is too many people are expecting 3d tv to WOW OMG them. But really it just needs to be another way to watch in order to be successful.
RealID has lisenced their tech so that tv's will now do the stereoscopy and active glasses aren't necessary. Eventually we can just wear the disposable theatre versions. Don't buy yet! |
