ill be going to germany, where in the next 10 days i hope to be able to test-drive and evaluate the cars mentioned above. If we can come to good terms with the dealer, and i hope that happens, ill be leaving with one for home ...
Nevertheless i am surprised as to how damn impolite were all the people ive so far spoken to.. and how unwilling they are to reduce the price on the cars

For me, I do love the M5 too much to pass it up when I have an opportunity like that. 507 hp. HOW DO I SAY NO?! But then again, I've never been that big of a fan of mercs because they seem like they're for old people even though you have that //AMG badge.
I hope you come to a decision you'll be satisfied with for a long time. Spending that kind of money on a car! Your wife must be thinking how many pairs of shoes she can buy with 80k! I hope you have fun in Germany. Good luck! |

Ah...one of the rare times in life where you have a decision made difficult by the fact that you have a plethora of good choices. You can't go wrong!

Personally i love the Cls 55 AMG, But at the same time, i love the m6. I think the M6 will give you more of that fun factor. but the CLS will give you more of the luxury sedan look. Since you allready have a 730d i would go for the m6. In a way i wish all my decisions were that easy to make, because no matter what decision you make you get a bad ass car.

Is it time to remind you about the EVO test times at the Bedford Autodrome West Circuit:
That's the test where they lapped the SL55 AMG slower than: 1. The M6 2. The M5 3. THE 330I MSPORT. Seriously though .. all good cars .. I'm somewhat envious of your choice! I know you love the mercs (for some strange reason), but I'd have the M6 at the top of the list. Let us know what you go for. |

CLS55 is great but they don't hold their resale value. Price/depreciation aside that would be my choice.
M5 is great but SMG sucks on a day-to-day basis, and then there is the controversial iDrive. Used cars always suck, to quote another forum member. I was in a similar comparison, E55 AMG versus 335i, and part of my decision was based on the used car factor. |

Thanks for that. So the cup holder pops out from the console on the passenger side? Man does that look hilarious from that angle, it looks like a huge virtual reality widget that you put your hand into!!

hmmmmmmmmmmm
cant go wrong with any of those... i would take the //M5, for power, lexury and practicality... but since u have a 730d, this means u already have a car with lots of space, so i would go for the M6
