6 years old Chinese kid lives alone

very sad story both of his parents died of AIDS and he has HIV himself. He lives alone and does almost everything by himself. His grandmother refuses to live with him but she cooks food for him sometimes. He doesn't go to school (school wouldn't admit him in) and the government refuses to help him out.

I forwarded this story to a friend of mine that works with Housing Works. They are an amazing organization that handles just these types of situations.

What an intelligent kid that is still alive. He takes care of himself with the condition he is in is just mind blowing. I wish I can help out kids like this. His self-esteem is still positive with his condition.

Best with you kid

This is the most moving story I've read in a long time. I feel extremely sad about his circumstance and can only wish for the best. I can tell by his personality that if he survives to become an adult, he's got it in him to be a great man. I feel very fortunate for what I have in life now. Fight on, kid!

Pretty sure it said something about they decided not to adopt in the end. Maybe I didn't understand it.

Indeed very very sad But have you ever been to China There are just countless and endless number of people like this. One would be broke beyond ends means if one were to try and help every one of them. Have you ever seen the beggars at the Guagzhou and Shenzhen train station in China?

I often wonder when I see these stories and people trying to rally to help these kids if everyone forgets that we have situations like this here in America? I work with a girl that has been on her own since age 12. Sure, it's not the same as being 6 and alone in China with AIDS, but there are pleanty of people here that could use a helping hand.

I'm not a heartless bastard, someone needs to help this kid out, but I just wonder why there's no sense of nationalism in America.

There is, what people fail to realize is our country actually has programs to help kids like the girl you speak of. China does not. That is what makes it some what news worthy. I will agree with you on one thing though, when I see stars adopt children from different countries instead of American orphans, I get a bit upset.
It's not about nationalism or patriotism, at all.

This is part of the problem with the thinking we have. Why not just put the kid in the movie? No acting necessary.

What a great kid....I emailed the link to several local talk radio shows and tv news stations. Hopefully they will create a buzz about this story and find someone who can help this amazing child.
