Oh, the irony

FAQ directly from 'Five Guys' restaurant chain.

Q: If so many people are allergic to peanuts, why does Five Guys continue to offer them?

A: Over the past 20 years, peanuts have become part of the Five Guys identity. We by no means want to exclude guests from our store, but at the same time we would not want to disappoint our peanut eating guests. We make sure that we have signage on our doors and in our restaurants about the fact that we serve peanuts in bulk containers as we would never want someone to risk their health by coming into our restaurants.

Their burgers and fries are some of the least healthy food you can have in the U.S. Anybody a regular at this joint?

*shrug*

Big difference between someone dying due to an allergic reaction and someone eating a dirty burger and gaining a pound or two.

Hmm...and people don't die of obesity? One of the most ignorant comments I've ever read. You really should look at the bigger picture of things.

I gotta find the name of the place that was rated the #1 worst place to eat in the world/usa. The FAQs in it were pretty hilarious (very similar style place to five guys I believe)

You're reading too much into this. A single burger won't kill someone, nor is it a gateway towards obesity...

Who is talking about a single burger? Lots of people go here more than once a week. Fast food joints such as Five Guys also ARE a gateway to obesity. I thought it was reasonable to think that claim was pretty absurd.

Fast food / shit food chains are at fault?

What ever happened to accountability and responsibility at an individual level? You do realize they have much fatter food and fast food joints in many other parts of the world, but don't have the issues we have, right?

What a country, America! We can stuff our fat fuck faces until we die from obesity, and then sue the restaurants we voluntarily frequented!

Seriously, fat lazy fucks are going to be fat lazy fucks regardless.... It's part of a trend in this country that is about a lot more than what sort of restaurants we're offered. It pretty much embodies all aspects of the lives of modern day Americans.

There are many facotors that lead to people becomings obnoxiously obese this is just one of them. You cannot single out one anyone and blame them for "making you fat" that in itself is obnoxious, in the end its all about you.

We all know Americans have little self control when it comes to their eating habits. That's just a given.

I think fast food restaurants should be held responsible for some of the blame, though. I think most of the blame should be put on parents - eating habits of children form early, and continue to be the same for the rest of their lives.

Lacking self control is a gateway to obesity. Being obese is nobodies fault but their own (or their parents if they're that young).

Burgers do not harm people. People who dont understand moderation harm themselves.

I get just as fat going to a fine steakhouse for filet and mashed with a few Jack and diet, as if I go to McD's for a burger and fries and diet.

I disagree that the establisments should be held accoutable for anything. That's pretty much like holding car manufacters responsible for providing you a high performace car that you drove over the speed limit and lost control of resulting in your death and the possible death of others. Yet we live in a country where people are allowed and made to think that they can file lawsuits over anything from this place made me fat to my coffee is too hot and burnt me. All these claims are just absurd.

Its either the persons consuming the foods fault, or the parents if it is a young person for thinking its alright. I feel bad for these kids who are 300+ pounds in their teens and even younger in some cases.

I'm a bit tired of nobody in the US wanting to hold their selves accountable for their actions.

This.

It's not the establishment's fault. If you're a fat ass, don't complain that a certain establishment's burgers are making you fat, eat elsewhere.

Seriously, in Hong Kong there are kids that are as skinny as bamboo that eat mcdonalds 3-4 times a week. They have an active lifestyle, they dont drive 1-2 blocks to go to work. How many obese people do you see in the US vs how many obese people do you see in Europe and Asia? Nearly every single continent has easy access to a mcdonalds or some sort of fast food.

Regardless of the fact that I think this place sucks major balls, the substance to which this thread is posted upon sucks even more major balls and is hardly worth a dedicated mention even on such a relatively intimate forum such as OT for BMW people.

But yea, this place isn't very good at all.
