Snow Boots: Fashion Etiquette

Okay, first of all I don't own Uggs, they are Oakley tactical boots. They're just what I happen use for really crappy days (like today) in Chicago.

Do you (those that live in the snow belt anyway), tuck your pant legs in to your boots? I mean functionally, what's the point of having boots if you don't because your pant legs still get wet.

I can wear them "inside" of my pant legs, but then I just look like I'm wearing a pair of doc martins or something (thick-ass soles), etc.

Absolutely how I roll... I really don't give a shit what other people think (never have), but I just went grocery shopping and everyone had their boots up in their pant legs and their f'ing pants were wet all the way up to their mid-calf? I mean how is that better? Although, to say I live in a neighborhood filled with vein people would be an understatement, so I'm guessing that might have something to do with it.

Tuck the shit in.. look a bit retarded but have dry pant legs or don't tuck them in, look normal, and have wet pant legs. Seems to me, either you care more about how you look or more about the dryness of your pant leg. Honestly, chicks tuck their jeans into their boots around here.

Not necessarily asking if it's okay... just asking what other people's opinion on the matter might be. I seem to be the ONLY person in Chicago that tucks in their pant legs and wondered if I was the odd one out, or if everyone else was doing it wrong.

I'd say if you're trudging through 6" inch high snow, it's more function over form. I wouldn't care either way.

If the snow isn't too deep I will not tuck, I just wear boots so my work shoes do not get wet and all ruined. If the snow is deep I''ll tuck the pants in though, function over form. Best if you can get both, but if not then definitely function over form.

I tend to keep my jeans on the outside when I'm wearing boots (Tim's). But then again I roll with boot cut jeans, so it looks more awkward and it's more uncomfortable to tuck them in than straight leg pants would be. The pants may get wet, but until I'm home I'm not taking my shoes off anyway. And then when I'm home I take my pants off anyway.
