Quattro Sport : where will the competition come from?
With the Quattro Sport Concept getting the green light I am curious as to where people think it's competition will mainly come from.
I suppose price and quantity will greatly determine this but many here, especially in the States don't get hung up on price as much as sheer ability and outright performance so that leaves the field wide open. |

Isn't the Quattro Sport supposed to be priced in between the R8 4.2 and 5.2? I don't see much direct competition to it other than the GTR at the cheap end and the Bentley Conti at the spendy end.

The car will have 408hp and 354lb/ft of torque, and yet only weigh 2900 lbs. I highly doubt the 3-series would be any sort of competition. It also has the same brakes as the R8 GT. My guess will be that this car will sit right around the $100G mark, making it way outside my price range Damn shame too, this car will be epic. |

There won't be any competition unless BMW proposes a CSL variant of the next gen M3 with some extensive weight reduction. Even then, it won't be as unique. I just doubt BMW has the resources to include a sub-halo sportscar, seeing as they're stretching their budget by making the Vision EfficientDynamics concept a production model.
The weight figure is going the hardest spec for the rest of Audi's competitors to match. It would require massive amounts of expensive materials to build a modern car to a sub-3000lb curb figure.
