Saw an M6 on the highway today ---- disappointing!
In the are I live I rarely see another E90 let alone an M6. I was driving on the highway at about 75MPH when I spoted a 6 series up ahead in the other lane, and he was holding up traffic behind him. Then I noticed it was an M6 and got excited. I got up next to him, rev'd a bit to see if he would look over, accelerated fast, came back next to him and I didn't get so much as a look from him. Really dissapointing when I see these guy's driving high performance sport cars and they live a ho-hum life because their driver's aren't enthusastic about the car they're driving. Kind of sad really.
I really was hoping the guy would look over, smile and then floor it. Oh, well. Oh yeah, remember how I said I rarely see another E90 where I live. Turns out, I pull out of my parking spot (one that someone should have paid me $10 for---one of the best spots I've parked in), the car behind me waiting pulls in and then right behind him is another E90. I would have waited there for the other guy to pass if I knew he was there so that he could've taken my spot. BMW's stick together! .... most of the time |

Since I've driven all the M cars I say this from experience:
Pick the M3 If you want ultra responsiveness and the best handling, it doesn't get any better than the M3. It will flatter your driving abilities and make you look like a pro while feeling in total control at all times. Pick the M6 Lots of power and a great interior but it doesn't flatter your driving skills like the M3. If you know how to drive really well the M6 is a great car and will impress but it's a little like the Dodge Viper in terms of high performance handling in my opinion---hard to control. Pick the M5 The perfect blend between the M6 and M3. It doesn't handle as well as the M3, but it does handle much better than the M6 and boosts a very similar interior. It's almost 20 grand cheaper, too. |

Hey bmwexec, I was on the Courtney Campbell this morning around 7:15am and I had passed an older 3 series. Just as I was going up that bridge portion I saw this BMW just closing the distance like crazy in my rear-view, but it couldn't have been the same 3 series I passed. So I'm doing about 80 and this guy is really on my tail. The best part is I'd floor it, let off, and he'd be way behind, catch up, I'd repeat LOL... and since I'm going that fast I wasn't about to slow down just to make him happy and pass me, so I kept up with traffic and switched lanes when appropriate. But I had a friend with me this morning so I wasn't about to keep that up long either. I switched lanes and finally let him pass and saw that it was an older 5 series.

yeah yesterday i went across the street like 1 mile to mcdonalds and a continental gt was in front of my at the drive through and then when i was comign back there was one leaving my street. then today i went like 3 miles to the fish store and i saw one on the way there and one on the way back. continental gts are becoming as popular as stupid sl500s.

I remember my father telling me that's the car he wanted to get for his next car. That was when he thought the MSRP was $90K. Then he found out it was $165K (or around there I think). |

not to be rude mate, but i never bother flooring my car unless i see something of similar calibre or better... So unless i see a 55AMG , ///M5/6, Alpina B5/B7 or a porsche 997 i just dont bother. Not for a 3-series anyway

I don't see many E90's either. Maybe 2-3 times a week and its always someone who seems to care less about the car their driving. Other than my dads 330i with ZSP, I NEVER see E90's with ZSP in my area. Saw the first E90 335i with zsp last week. I maybe see 1-2 high class cars a month. Never a Conti GT, some maserati's, typically higher end AMG's, haven't seen an M5 or M6 in about a year.
I guess I either don't see them, or people aren't buying or driving them. I'll be seeing a lot of my aunts new M5 though hehe.

M6 doesnt cut it for me either. It really looks like its sitting on stilts... Not what I would expect from an M car...
I would rather have an M5 than an M3 though considering each of their pro's and con's... |
