Books On Learning About BMW's and Cars In General

I'm a long time car lover, but I'll admit I don't know much about them to fix them. Does anyone know of any books to learn the anatomy, inner workings, etc. about vehicles?

Also, has anyone been able to find a paperback service manual on the E85, or is it only in digital format?

I didn't think that Bentley made a service manual for the E85.
