My buddy is building his own 1000HP supercar - The GT90 Concept from Need For Speed
Thought all you motorheads on this board would appreciate this.
I recently started a job at NVIDIA and immediately sought out the car enthusiasts at the Santa Clara-based headquarters campus. As part of my job there, I manage the blog, so when I found my buddy Adam was building his own 1000HP supercar, I had to do a story on him. This story is linked below. Cliff's Notes: He's fabricating and integrating nearly all non-frame components himself. The car's design is based on the GT90 concept that was featured in Need For Speed many years ago. The motor is based on the Corvette Z06, and will be custom tuned with the help of an formula car builder. Twin turbos, polished and extruded (I think). He's hoping to hit 1000HP with a weight under 1700lbs! Can't wait to drive this monster. Check out the pics and story here. http://blogs.nvidia.com/2011/10/inne...gt90-supercar/ |

I submitted it to TopGear. Maybe they'll talk about it during the news portion of the show.

^^great idea!
That is sick. Kind of blasphemy though, putting a Z06 engine in Ford. Absolutely incredible though, how did he shape all the panels?

The body panels are currently fiberglass mockups. I may cook up some video to show off in the near future. |

Along those lines, if he's working with a formula car designer, aero testing would have to be done as well to prevent the car losing body panels, breaking down, or flying upside down at 200 mph. I'm going to guess that at 1700 lbs, safety equipment is going to be minimal.
