Next vehicle? Help
So, I am in that....mode again.
Saving a few pennies up for something but I need some type of idea as to what I would like to get. These are my options folks: Audi RS4 Z06 996 Turbo I have done research on these animals, I think Porsche is the most reliable and stable and here are my small findings and opinions. Insurance (state farm 25/married/two car discount): Porsche: 93 z06: 120 Audi: 120 The Audi would be a 07 08, the porsche a 99-03 and the vette would be I guess a 2005-06 when ever the nicer looking z06s first started. GAS mileage: Vette (FTW) Porsche Audi , in that particular order, according to fueleconomy.gov Reliable: Porsche Vette/Audi <--- Not sure, as Audi's sucked back in the day until VW got a hold of that ass 0 to 60 times:zeroto60times.com Vette: 3.5 Porsche: 3.8 Audi : 4.3 Track: (My opinion) Porsche Vette Audi Maintenance: (worse to best and opinion again) Porsche Audi Vette Its a good thing I have 3 to 4 months to think about this. I think I may have to setup a few test drives to see wtf these are about? Everysince the m3 era, I dunno if I can drive American muscle, but its also a dream. Should I get the z06 v8 muscle, sounds so sick and just amazing look. Should I get the beautiful body lines and the stellar interior of the Audi or should I get the timeless look and AWD platform and potential easy 500 AWHP setup of the 996 turbo. This is where I stand and all advice will be thought about and please no extra haggling or harassment on my thread FOLKS. ![]()

Given that the RS4 range from 33-45 I can get a 996 for 35 right now that is tastefully done and have 500 WHP, I cant justify spending another 5-10k on a supercharger for the audi

Only advantage the 996 has is the AWD system and edge on track?

It actually seems like it might be the perfect car to drive sparingly. Might have the ideal amount of driving reward vs. owner cost for your situation. I'd prefer the M3 as a 20k/yr daily to any of the cars you listed, both for what it offers and the cost at which it offers it. I'd also prefer a different car to all those listed as a weekend/track toy. But this falls nicely in between imo. |

Corvette Z06 all day long
Will be more reliable than Porsche as well, maintenance will be cheaper, it's faster. The only reason I don't own one is insurance was ridiculous on it. Also, go drive all 3 cars in question so you can make an educated opinion on what you like. Depending on the year 996, there is the RMS issue (yes, even on the turbos), and the gearbox is a weak point for pushing horsepower Last edited by BTM; 11-10-2011 at 10:24 PM.. |

You sold the M and are considering an older outdated Audi?
I'm biased towards BMWs, but I've never understood why anyone would buy an Audi, where is the appeal in it? Someone help me understand lol And to answer your question Cayman S, 996 turbo, 997 CS or E60 M5 ![]()
