Pick a car for 10k
If you had to pick, what car would you get for around 10k keeping in mind that reliability is important. Can be any car and how many miles would it have for around 10k.

As in daily driver? I would personally buy a 06-07 civic as a DD...

I guess what I'd pick would depend on what I needed it for - pick-up truck for hauling, commuter with good gas mileage. For a few years, my daily driver was a $2500 Porsche 944 and it did fine, even in Chicago winters.

You can get an e36 M3 for that with under 100k miles all day long. If you shop smart you'll have cash left over even!

I may be in a similar position and have considered a Lexus IS300 or a TSX, both of which can be had with a manual. I also want something with 4 doors...

for a daily driver, consider a lease-return GTI or Rabbit with some warranty left. I just got one, added factory sport springs and some eibach anti-swaybars, and its a hoot to drive.

I'd pick up an older WRX.

It's no surprise that Americans buy a lot more used cars than new cars. I will go for Mazda 6 ,2006 Civic Si, 2006 Ford Freestar and Hyundai Sonata but having children is definitely re-evaluate the choice of car.

Its a great engine. I pulled my 04 lexus next to my 135i and started them both at the BMW dealership. I started the BMW and it was making wierd noises and shaking. The IS was quiet and turned over instantly.
And the IS has 115,000 miles more than the BMW.

2004 pontiac gto, 100k miles or so, when it blows you just build bigger and better. Or e46s, but they are horrifically slow. Supercharged w body's are under 10k, tune pulley, and supporting mods can get you into the 13s easily. Fbody camaros or firebirds...
new Hyundai accent base is 12k, used mazda3, cobalt ss... Good luck with search. |

I agree, while you will not have the fastest car around you can find a clean solid example. If I had $10k to buy a DD I would be combing for a nice E36 M3 over anything. One of my favorite cars of all time. Ill take a boston green 4 door please.

04 GTO can be bought for under 10k with a lot of miles but I wouldn't say is has that much reliability. Nice car but it's hit or miss on the issue's you could have with it.
I would get a Miata, S2000, older Civic, older Camry or a CRX. |
