Looks GREAT in person....honestly the best looking 911 since the 993 IMO. The interior finally matches the price tag as well.

It's so bizarre, 142k for just a Carrera S? Sat in the 997 Turbo S, lifted the hood, etc., 179k, and somehow I liked the 991 better? They moved the motor 3" forward from what I heard.
Lots of car enthusiasts, no poseurs there LOL An older gentleman said not to brag but I've owned 5 Porsches, 2 were purchased new. He said in his opinion, a 4-5 y.o. with low miles is in the sweet spot. Me and my buddy who has an '08 550i were strategizing on how we can make that leap. Obviously a Porsche is not a daily driver, that's where it becomes "ok" to have a beater |

I find those designations confusing. I've heard a GT3 RS is "the" kick a** track car, although a GT2 has more power? can't help but even feel from the interior, those cars are for men. BMWs are also for men, who don't have enough money LOL

For $142k I would probably look into something else. $100k is the most I'd pay for any Porsche if I had the money (this includes a CPO)

Nice ride... saw one a week ago... definitely can't fathom the 120K price that I saw for a Carrera S... not thanks.

142 is weird for "just" a Carrera S, I mean not 4S, not turbo, not targa, not cabrio, just plain Carrera S. And we thought 57k was a lot for a 335i coupe. As our dollar weakens, the world doesn't smile along with us...

It was optioned out to 142k, new 991 Carrera S. Not a misprint, not a joke. The 997 Turbo S that we fired up was 179k. On the 142k Carrera S, it said property of PCNA, NOT FOR SALE.
Too bad I can't somehow wager with you through paypal. All you have to do is find out which dealership the tour goes to in your area. I have a pic of the back of it and it has a GA license plate, so no worries on verifiying the car. Bet you $12k. That way I would only have to come up with another 130k for that particular car. There was another black one that was 104k. Just imagine with the Porsche options, two cars can be 38k different. I don't think there's any BMW that has that much in optioning.... |

I like the back of the 991, but they made it too big... Also, a Porsche is a daily drive. I have a 4S and a 4 GTS and they are awesome every day, even in the snow. I can easily get all my shopping done and even pick people up from the airport. Anything that fits in the 335 (2 door) fits in the 997. So long as it is just one more person. But my view is, let the other bastards get their own car :P Quote:
I didn't dig the interior too much... seemed less sporty.. also as I said, it is too big. they had one parked next to a 997, and the 991 was WAY higher and felt too large. Not to say I won't buy a 991, but I just wont get rid of my 997.. I'm not totally sold on it yet.. I want to see what they do with the GT3

I've seen a couple of them lately and while they look absolutely beautiful (legitimately the only Porsche I've ever liked), I can't really find anything on it to justify that kind of a steep price tag. I think most of it is just the name (like most other things) but still. Definitely a sick car nonetheless though.

I looked online and a 2007 Carrera S still is going for 50k. That is very doable for me, whereas honestly, 100k is not. Not today, and probably not in 5 years. 10? Maybe, but by then I'm sure a new 911 will be over 200. |

That's strange being the 991 is .20" shorter in height.

Your 2nd post was a bit misleading. That price doesn't reflect the model most consumers generally purchase. That's definetly an outlier. We can option out a Honda coupe to $50k I'm sure lol. Just saying.

I have seen a few some them. Basically look the same as the 997 to me. Really the exterior does not look a whole a lot different.
