Let's take a minute to step back and analyze the situation here. Cops pull up and find a guy with a bag of money and he runs. Logic would tell you to run after him. The officers then brought him back and asked the owner if this was the man who robbed his store and the video makes it out to be that the owner acts as if the officers wrongfully accuse the man in question on purpose. He is then immediately set free, followed by the man in question giving a demeaning glare towards the officers.

Please tell me where there is black injustice in this video? If anything, this sympathizes with the officers who have to deal with this half-assed so-called-racism because someone thinks they can pull the race card to get out of something. Is the message of the video supposed to be that irregardless of guilt someone shouldn't be arrested if they're not white?

We have a thing called habeas corpus. Within the legal system is where the true judgment is given. I'm not saying racism doesn't exist, but this is wrongful accusation of the officers in this video, not the black man.

The funniest thing to me is that the video shows a black man robbing the store anyway! Way to perpetuate the stereotype that black people are thiefs. But what do you expect from someone, like Akon, with no education?

Akon is an ex-convict, ex-drug dealer, and a polygamist! He spent 5 years in prison, for what I don't know. He owns a diamond mind in South Africa and denies the existence of blood diamonds. Then he goes on to womanize and drive an orange Lambo.

I agree, I don't think the fact that the robber was a black man changes anything, it's just that the man runs for no apparent reason.

But, honestly, with a guy lke Akon producing this 'less-than-stellar' kind of crap, who cares? Like you said, if it wasn't for the rap game, he would have no future. Sometimes I get
angry how these low-lives can produce something that takes less than single digit IQ to make, and be more successful than a man who has worked his entire life, pursuing

ditto. I usually try to stay out of such discussions on the net, but I'm going to make a comment that I'll probably regret. I've noticed on several forums lately that there seems to be much more anger and sensitivity from non-blacks about blacks 'playing the race card' or wanting some sort of special treatment than there is actual b_tching and moaning from blacks about discrimination. From my perspective, for all of the black people that are hypersensitive about the plight of black folks in America or who are unwilling to accept responsibility for their own problems, there are just as many people who are unwilling to even consider the reasons that so many black people continue to have the troubles that they are having today. It wasn't taken out, it's in the constituion. Bush merely suspended it for certain suspected terrorist individuals. Recently the senate judiciary commity reinstated The Writ of Habeas Corpus through a bill. Clinton did a similar act. It was the first suspension of habeas corpus in any way since the civil war.

There was a more recent case of a legal US citizen, Ali Saleh Kahlah al-Marri, who had to go through the US circuit of appeals to get set free after being illegally detained (after the bill had passed). He's been in prison in South Carolina for about 4 years. Here's his story:

And I wasn't looking too deep into the video because I saw the interview on MTV (unfortunately) after the video played with the guys and they were talking about black injustice in society and all that crap. It's not that I don't believe racism exists or something. I've seen it happen in front of my own eyes and it makes me very uneasy, but in this particular circumstance in this music video just makes me want to slap those idiots.

The song is about being at the wrong place at the wrong time, not being able to get away from misery, living in an area where trouble always seems to find you........this video/song has nothing to do with injustice. Obviously if you listened to the lyrics and actually tried to understand the message you wouldn't have created this thread.
