Seems to be some longer term reliability issues with Audi's...so unless you are going for a new model, I would go for a used 5 series...if you want something driver's orientated.
Otherwise...anything from Japan will probably serve you well. |

A6
My 2001 A6 is way more roomier than the E60 5er.....and so is the current A6.
But the A6 drives like a couch, a slow couch and I have the 4.2 V8!

A buddy of mine has a 335i on order, but also looked at the 535i as well... The only area where the 5er seemed noticeably larger was in the trunk.

^ lol because we like driving German cars, don't get me wrong im no fanboy but i would never pay the amount of a German car on a Japanese car. In Australia the Lexus is seen inferior against the German rivals because most people's mentality here is that Lexus's are just Toyota's with an L badge.

At the risk of getting flamed for suggesting it, you might want to check out the Pontiac G8 GT... Definitely larger than the 5er and should be well within your price range. There's a thread about it a few posts down in this forum. We should start seeing it in the states at the end of this year.

I say go for a 5-series if you don't want an SUV. I was in the same situation and turned away from Audi b/c of the lack in performance and the fact I felt like an old man driving that boat. B/c the prices are different her in Canada I dropped the idea of a 5-series and just bought an 03 X5 which really drives like a car!

How much bigger? Can you tell us what you need a bigger car for? You just like more space? You need to haul stuff now and then or what?
