Most incredible production car ever. My friend (Diehman) has a 1184 whp gt-r, which is pretty cool, but that's the most 1 off car i have ever even heard of. To have the perfection of that interior, and be able to go 253 mph, just brilliant.

To me the Bugatti has nothing on the McLaren F1. The McLaren was the singular vision of Gordon Murray, who oversaw every tiny detail of its design and production, and wanted it to be simply the best driver's car. The Bugatti was driven by egomania and arbitrary targets.
My prediction is that the McLaren will always be remembered as one of the greatest ever cars whereas the Bugatti will be used as an example of VW's lack of focus and excesses.

You guys need to be watching Top Gear.
In another episode, they race across Europe. Italy to London. Veyron vs Aeroplane. I think that was in the 2006 series. It's awesome. New series starts in Sept. The Veyron will be featured again. My gut is that I think they were able to obtain one to drive around the track. Bugatti would not let them track the car so they offered thirty pounds ($60) to any owner who would lend them their car lol. I think they found someone. For those of you who can't get it on TV, every episode is on www.finalgear.com

Incredible indeed. Awesome.
There is one stupid thing though in the video. The guy is wearing a helmet and a racing suit. I sincerely doubt the two can do anything to protect him if he crashes at 407 km/h. They probably won't be able to find him at all... |

My prediction is if they do get a Veyron on the track it won't beat the Koenigsegg (which I think is the current lap holder), and maybe not even some of the other top contenders like the Zonda, Enzo and MC12. Or maybe I'll be eating my words in the fall.
