Electric cars make crazy torque, and unlike gas power motors, produce it instantly instead of between certain power bands.

Here is a small blurb about the X1 electric sports car:

The X1 prototype is just the beginning. It meets its design specs of 0-60 in 3 seconds, 170 mpg equivalent; and at 1536 lbs, is only 36 lbs over the design target of 1500. In recent track testing, on street tires, it achieved the following performance:

0-100 mph: 6.87 sec
0-100-0 mph 11.2 sec
Lateral g: 1.3
Braking g: 1.2

the tesla is enviro hippy junk too... 90 grand for a lotus elise with an extra 500 lbs attached.....

I think it is more like a few hours with the next-gen battery packs, but in any case, we need to focus on building an infrastructure (e.g., swapping battery packs?) to address this present limitation.

The chassis looks like it's from an Ariel Atom. They kept the huge air intake behind the seats!
