'F1 Race Stars' announced by Codemasters, cartoon racing for November

When you think Codemasters are focusing on F1 2012, they got something else to give this November!!!

F1 Race Stars has been announced by Codemasters.

The arcade racer features official drivers, teams and courses from the 2012 FIA Formula One Championships, complete with cartoon visuals and power-ups.

Releasing for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this November, authentic race tracks will be transformed into over-the-top "racing theme parks", littered with loop-the-loops, short-cuts, ramps and speed boosts.

Drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel have been transformed in cartoonish caricatures, able to compete in Championships, Time Trials and online modes for up to 12 players.

Power-ups include KERS, which is used to gain a speed boost, safety car deployment to hold up other drivers, summoning wet weather to spin out rivals or calling down a rain cloud on the race leader.

Courses will also feature their own obstacles, such as swimming pools in Monaco and bullet trains in Japan.

Describing it as the game Codemasters has always wanted to create, senior producer Chris Gray said: "We're really excited to bring the whole cast of Formula One into a fun new world of racing.

"We've really let our Art and Design teams off the leash to bring F1 stars' personalities alive in a new way and create a game where racing fans of all ages can jump into all-action solo, split-screen and online multiplayer races.

"It's the game we've wanted to create for a long time and, building on our strong relationship with Formula One Management Limited, we're now able to bring Codemasters' long-standing expertise in track design and AI to create a Formula One racing experience quite unlike any other."

this sounds great and all but are their any realistic F1 simulator games? ive been playing GT5 but you can only race monaco so many times with the f2007 before you crave more f1cars and gp tracks.

Reminds me of the speedracer game. Lots of fun.
