If that's it then what a disappointment. Firstly, it looks like a facelift NOT a new model. Secondly, while the front end would look OK on the GS I don't think they should have a plastic mesh grille for their flagship sedan model. I actually like the current LS but if this is the "new" design its miles behind the new 7/S/A8.

Why not, current Mercedes flagship (w221) uses cheap chrome plastic grill, so does BMW 7-series... maybe they should've painted it chrome as well?

IMO the rear end has an "executive luxury sedan" look to it, but the front end is actually way too aggressive for the targeted demographic of the LS.
Most people who drive an LS are old, rich, 50+ year old white collar types looking for elegance and refinement, not boy-racerish and aggressive. The headlights are actually nice, but the grill is atrociously boy-racerish and overly aggressive for this type of car. |

You said buyers might flock to Hyundai, implying that people horrified by how ugly the new LS looks (which I agree it looks awful) would look at Hyundai, and I corrected you by saying people who are disappointed at Lexus would more likely switch to BMW/Merc/Audi - not Hyundai - because Hyundai caters to a different market.
I can't explain such a simple concept any better than that. |

back in the 90's i'd pick an LS over any other executive sedan hands down (1UZ-FE, Mark IV Supra brakes, double wishbone, etc) but now i'm not so sure. it looks overly aggressive like said above and i think this aero kit should be an option like the m sport kit and a more subtle one should be standard.

Oh I didn't even notice there are two versions, a regular one that looks classier and an "F sport" version.
The F sport grill looks hideous and tacky for a car that doesn't really provide much "sport." The regular grill isn't too bad actually. F sport version: |
