McLaren P1 concept study
Wow.... The front could stand to be more aggressive, but other than that the rest is wow. The rear is beautiful, the side profile hints at some design points of the McLaren F1. I'm just curious as to what kind of new technological know how from their Formula 1 Program, McLaren used to make this their flagship car. KERS, and what else? What kind of exotic material (inconel, magnesium, duralimin, etc..) would they use to differentiate this from the ubber supercars. Last edited by cjwb1984; 09-18-2012 at 07:29 PM.. |

Wow, after being SO disappointed with the MP12C, I think this thing is sex on wheels. Aggressive - as it was meant to be!

The rear is incredible looking. The front looks like it has the biggest grin on its face. But overall, I like it.

I wouldn't be surprise if McLaren uses the name P1 as the name for the production car, to infer pole position. Instead of the odd naming convention they use for the McLaren MP4-12C. I understand what 12 (dont know how they make their calculations) and C (Carbon)stands for, it just doesn't sound right. McLaren marketing have their hands full for the that. So if McLaren remains with that naming this should be MP4-1C. McLaren P1 just sounds better.
But I doubt the prospective buyers would really care much, and/or needs much convincing if it looks that good and most importantly perform. |

The Porsche 918 Spyder & Ferrari Enzo successor will also implement KERS. However, the prices on these cars are so stratospherically high (McLaren- $1.5 mil, Porsche- $900k, Ferrari- More than you can afford pal), that it will mean little in the short term.

I don't have to be in the market to find a car unattractive. I work on the same street as the dealer prep and service center so I see several of them on a daily basis. I just don't like how the car looks and I would never buy a car I felt was not attractive - even if I could afford it. It looks like a Hyundai to me.

That side profile pic makes the car look small. I'd imagine the weight of this car being around 2600-2800lbs (depending on if KERS would be in there) and not needing quite the higher output that the Ferrari or Lambo's are putting out. I wouldn't be surprised if a modified 12C engine would be in there.

It's ginning that much cuz it's gonna be such a happy car on the road when it is out. Also an extension of the feeling the drivers will have when he/she owns one of these puppies xD |

Wow....
I'm speechless as I should be... more pictures
I'm just wondering what the interior looks like. It should be more radical compared to the more simplistic and minimalist approach of the MP4-12C. |
