hmm its definitely an upgrade.. but not as crazy as i expected. (I'm using iPhone 4)
more functions available on my friend's 4s like panoramic camera mode.

There is an app you can download called 360 Panorama which should work on your 4. I was expecting a crazy update too but the only thing that has made a noticeable difference so far is the improved maps. The 3D map looks really good. Haven't really played with the new Siri yet.

I had a friend make the same comment about iPhone 5. My question to him, which he really couldn't answer with specifics was "What exactly were you expecting?". His only specific reply was "a wider screen", but otherwise was a shrug of the shoulders. Honestly, do you want to stuff a tablet in your pocket?

So, what exactly were you expecting in iOS 6 that you didn't get?

I was using a program called Photosynth but ill give 360 Panorama a try.

Also, rejecting a phone call and sending an auto text is pretty cool.

The new map app is nice used it earlier tonight. I don't use Siri on my 4s so I couldn't tell you if it's any sort of improvement.
I tried connecting to my home wifi after the update and my phone kept directing me to connect to a "hot spot" and that page was no longer available... Had to forget the network and input my home wifi password again.
The App Store looks better.
On the bimmer post app there is now a button to see recent posts.

You are correct. It's just how apple's marketing team advertises the new iPhone and the iOS, you get lost in their world and forget that it's nothing special.

If anything, I was looking forward to the panoramic camera function the most hahaha I mean I could get an app that does the similar thing, but that function on the 4s is much smoother and easier to use.

Also, they said facebook is integrated, but turns out its the same thing as having the fb app which I already had.

Before I got the upgrade, I read about the new features so I knew what I was gonna get. I was still hoping there would be some functions in the settings that they didn't mention. Those are always neat to find out.

Dont like the new maps app at all. I used "street view" all the time and this is now gone

Lest hope Google will come out with a stand alone Maps app. Apple's version isn't very good at all.

i don't know if it's a bug, lack of updates, or simply the way it is, but I use the traffic jam view all the time and I hardly see any info in the new maps app.

everything else is fine, though nothing ground breaking.

apple really needs to invest in some widgets or some kid of app drawer like andriod. a bunch of icons is not very slick looking or apple like.

Well you can kinda... I use my "utilities icon" to store several apps inside. I think more icons like the utilities one or whatever they are called would be more useful to clean up the screen.


Side note after the update I now have to give bimmer post my permission to have access to my photos if I want to save any images with the bimmer post app... That's kinda weird.

If I understand you correctly... Your looking for additional folders. What u can do is drag one program on top of another, wait a sec, and bam - new folder that u can rename to whatever u like.

Well, that isn't unique to Apple's marketing team, but is a behavior of ALL marketing teams. Our company launches new products and innovation with lots of fanfare, and we're like "Really? It's a can with bumpy paint, how friggin' exciting is that?!"

If your Marketing team isn't making sliced bread sound like the greatest invention since, well, sliced bread, they should be fired!

iOS 6, you mean 5.1.2? I was hoping for more than this

kind of a meh update, I wouldnt keep my hopes on a google maps app cause their new youtube app sucks, no where near as good as the stock app from previous iOS's

like the panorama pic mode...refreshed layout is cool..don't find a need for the VIP email folder..the do not disturb function seems interesting but allows emails so it's still just easier to go into airplane mode...the separate podcast app is kinda cool..especially the popular stations feature, kind of like pandora now...read some gripes about youtube app being pulled and the new one isn't as good..but i don't use youtube too much...the facebook integration is nice, but honestly think it's a bit of overkill

but 6 is killing my battery faster on my 4s..
