Man cave and bedroom ideas

The wifey and I have a pretty good sized finished basement that needs the walls panted (not sure what color) and enough spare room for a pool table, already have a huge TV in there, multiple couches we just need ideas for wall stuff, maybe other suggestions... some ideas to go off of?

We're mid 20's age group. Pics would be nice?

I have a small space in my basement and its not finished, but we set it up pretty nicely down there. Theres a 42in tv, fridge, a couch, a couple of chairs, video game systems, 14 speakers, beer pong table....OH and then there is Pierre who is our man cave mascot, a blue lobster!

If I had a room setup that way, I would probably go with one of these two options for artwork:

1. If you watch a lot of movies in there with the huge TV, find and frame various movie posters to hang along the walls. Get the posters in the same size and use the same type of frame on each for a look of symmetry.

2. My other favorite type of artwork is vintage advertising that might work well in a room like this. Think vintage liquor and travel adds. Here are some examples from art.com:

Have fun with the project!

Funny, I was also going to suggest some vintage posters. I wandered into a shop recently that sells them and found them very cool. There were not copies but mostly 50+ year old posters. While not exactly inexpensive they are pretty unique and would look great on your wall(s).

Nice, I would love to find a shop that had original vintage posters.

Depending on the feel of the room, the vintage ads could look super awesome. Old liquor, car, ect ads are really interesting to look at IMO.

Lighting. Put those fluorescent tubes in the garage and get some canister lights, or lights that reflect off the wall. Put a backlight behind the TV. Cover the walls with curtains, movie theater style, for sound-deadening and for a cleaner look, and so it looks less basement-like.

A cheap way to cover the exposed joists is maybe with a canvas paint tarp...you could go with sort of a casbah motif or a army-tent motif.
