Instagram photos

Will someone tell me what the big deal is... As an avid and educated photographer, I HATE HATE HATE instagram photos. And it seems to have become a popular habit to take photos of your beloved car via instagram. But (just in my opinion) they all look terrible! Super contrasting your car makes it look fake, how is that attractive? I've always felt the best car photo was an unedited one... its like everyone is trying to make their car look better by making it look unrealistic. I just dont get it

Don't reject Instagram. Not every user is a 13 year old girl who #hashtags everything to get the most views. Give it some credit. When done right, it can look really, really nice.

My opinion of instagram just comes from the photos taken on this site, especially the gray 135i's

Like this picture for instance (No offence to the owner), I just think it doesnt look nearly as good as a regular photo.. Why does everyone love it so much?

This is what happen when you give people too many knobs to turn they just turn them for the hell of it. People do it because they can not that is makes thing look better or appeal to more people.

When i post on instagram i rarely use any of their presets in their. I merely use it for sharing. I have my images pre-edited from my pc and simply use it as a portal to share them.

ha, i didn't say i was professional, I just said i was taught how to take photographs. I can take a photo with the desired affect rather than try to create a photo thats something its not, thats what i'm getting at here. And instagram would in no way benefit these photos, an intelegent person would know that.

all these pictures look the same - looks like you are using an entry level DSLR in Auto Mode - there is literally no life to any of the pictures.

the bike shot is a good angle, but there isn't anything special about it.

BMW shots have zero composition - like zero.

WRX shot is wierd - who the hell puts a car in the shade and shoots it with a massive bright spot on the bottom left corner ??

chick shot is ok, but why the hell would you intentionally make it blurry ??

look, it's ok to say things about instagram posters, but please do not call yourself an avid and educated photographer and then post pictures that looks like they were taken with a cell phone (an old flip phone at that)......

Actually only the first two were taken on a DSLR, the others were on a point and shoot (all my photos are taken in manual mode, I don't like effects). As for the burry shot, a crisp clean photo isn't always the most interesting one, and especially when you have shit for a background and are trying to catch a shot in the moment. Slow down the shutter speed, adjust the aperature and its more interesting.

I do enjoy my photography, but I didn't say i was good at it nor do i have the cash to support it as a high end hobby. Tho I am confident I can take a decent photo and you won't convince me otherwise. I hate when people ruin a normal photo making it look unrealistic and thats what i'm bitching about, because for some reason people all of a sudden think its "cool" and it drives me nuts

if your definition of decent is "a picture taken with some random device that captures images", then yes, your pics are decent.

its funny how this went from me bitching about super contrasting photos and making them unrealistic to hypercritical examination of my photography...
