Red face THE BARN ... you will not beleive this

Guys ... I don't post very much but do love to read ALL the discussions that go on here. But, I couldn't NOT share the following with you ALL.
Read the short story below & go to the link (lots of pics). If you love classics, you will be SOOO Jelous ! ENJOY !

A New York man retired. He wanted to use his retirement money wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal.

The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15 yrs.;the owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs. The house was sold to pay taxes.

There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded shut. Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway ...... so, nobody made an offer on the place.

The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved in, and set about to tear in to the barn ... curiosity was killing him. So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders ....... and cut thru the welds.

What was in the barn...............? Go to;

www.intuh.net/barnfinds/afa70.htm

and start wishing it was you who had bought the place.

DAMN!!!
I'll auction them all and get myself an M5+M6, a few other bimmers.
Then other supercars see how much I remaining.

Lucky Bastard!

It was like opening up a door of confisgated vehicles.
Somehow I have doubts with the story itself.

Btw, if he didn't cut the weld out and just demolish the building. What he found in the rumble pieces will definately KILL him! hahaha...

Anyone ever hear of an estimated value? Nothing in the article I read from Revlis.

I guess the snopes.com reference has already been posted.

No offense to the OP, but I wish people, before posting/forwarding things like this, would Google to see if it is a hoax, common urban legend, spam e-mail "forward to everyone you know!" etc. A Google search of "portugal barn" pulled up tons of sites indicating this story is not true and it has been around the Internet for at least 5 years.

Sorry if I sound grumpy. The pics are cool.

I was hoping you'd find the humor... I've got little free time, but I am on a PC, face in screen all day. Works well, for being all over the web... wasn't trying to SLAM or beat ya up about it, just poke a little fun at it.

Looks like I am full of fail...

^OMG I just laughed so loud my whole office looked at me. That right there was worth opening this thread if not for nothing else.

As for the thread itself, I for one would not want to clean that collection, you can have it.

Revlis ... you won me over with the FAIL pic ... I'm dying over here !
Poking fun from you is very well accepted. 8-) I sincerely thank you

As for having bothered so many of you with the story being fake ... who cares if true or not ... legend or myth ... just look & enjoy (sheesh) !

The pics of that collection is really something for auto-aficionado's. I would love to see what has happened to that collection now ? Anyone have any follow up (since it's fake) ???

No offense, but somehow women seem to be more easily duped by these things, and even after it's declared a hoax on a website or on myth busters, they still don't believe it's not true. Just venting. Two examples are the cancer caused by bottled water left in hot cars, and the using lower octane causes lower mpgs hoaxes. Oh yes, another one is the aluminum non-stick pan causes cancer too, so let's spend $1000 on all-clad pots and pans and scratch them up when food sticks to them....
