New 2014 CLA starts at $29,900... your turn BMW
I know, I know it's FWD (or optional AWD) but still cheaper than C-class... $29,900 really cheap for any MBZ.
Few key features:
Length:182.3 Width: 80.0 Height: 56.6 Good job MBZ. More CLA: Last edited by Sedoy; 02-02-2013 at 09:59 AM.. |

Audi A3 is priced the same and the 128i coupe starts at $1100 more. Its definitely not overpriced, but I wouldn't call it a bargain either.
Still, it is a great car and a good option for those looking to get into a luxury brand at an affordable price. |

Not my cup of tea personally, but for what it is, seems really cool. Great way for MB to appeal to the masses and offer their brand and luxury to people that don't care too much about power or even know what wheels power the car...which sadly is a majority of people buying luxury cars.
Awesome to see car companies adapting with the times, even though those adaptations are in the opposite direction of what us enthusiasts like. As long as it helps to pay the bills to fund the AMG and M and RS and other "high performance" segments of the brands I'm all for it! |

I'm sure the stripper model will be just that: stripped bare. Regardless, I think it's going to be a great inclusion to the lineup.
While some can make a decent case for it being overstyled, I think it looks good. The hard creases running lengthwise mask its relatively portly and stubby dimensions. I'm sure a healthily optioned model will be around the low 40's.

Depends on what your idea of "poor" is.

Are Europeans as repulsed with lesser models as Americans seem to be? I mean, whenever I go overseas, I see A & B Class Mercedes much more often than an E or S class. Does this brand snobbery exist over there? Maybe we would think a little less of these brands if our taxis were Mercedes...
I LOATHE the term "poor man's ______" as it is almost always a total joke. People have said this about a few cars I've owned and in turn, I've made a few observations. People who called my Lotus a "poor man's Ferrari" universally drove pieces of junk. I mean, 90s Mercury Sable junk. People also love to pick on the 135i. I test drove many cars before picking up the 1er and I chose it because it fit exactly what I was looking for, regardless of price. The stigma is that I only got it because I desperately wanted to have a roundel in my garage and wouldn't spring for the now-one-notch-above-the-lowest-model 3er.
