Mercedes G63 6x6 to enter production
Mercedes will soon be offering this six-wheeled version of the G63 AMG.
Was originally developed for the Australian military back in 2011, the G63 AMG 6x6 officially will go on sale in October 2013. Currently, Mercedes is expecting sales of between 20 and 30 units annually. The 6x6 in action; http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=hEA02kfdh8o Pricing should be aprox : U$ 457,000 Making new G63 AMG 6-wheeler second most expensive Mercedes-Benz car after the SLS AMG. This simply means that the new variant will cost three times more than the standard G63 AMG.

For that kind of money I would buy the Marauder:
-Fully armored -10 person capacity -Range of 700km As it is cheaper than the Benz you could use the extra money and modify the interior with it to make it more appealing...but frankly, a kind of this vehicle has to stay in authentic IMO. |

The Marauder is too impractical a vehicle to own
+ it isnt half as quick as the G wagon (0-100 < 6 secs)

How is it impractical with a 10 person capacity? It is big for sure, but the G6x6 is no town car either. In its natural habitat (Rough Terrain) the G is as fast as any other Offroader since physics aint getting lifted with engine power. And by rough terrain I do not mean meadows or sandy roads. Plus the Marauder is classified as utility vehicle which means it is cheaper to run taxwise (in my country). So you re coming with 0-60 figures? How many pounds of C4 can the G handle before being vaporised? |

Exactly! Next to the Marauder the G looks like a toy I mean its not that big if you think about it: It has roughly the size of a small Truck And you see thousands of those in towns, and they make their way! |

Recently Autocar UK testdrove the G63 6x6 in Dubai,
A few pointers from the review; - The Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6 is tipped to cost £350,000, making it the second most expensive Mercedes road car - It will be produced on a limited basis at Mercedes-Benz’s Austrian partner Magna Steyr’s operation in Graz - The 6x6 has six driven wheels, low range gearing, five diff locks and a tyre control system - The rear wheel arches house compressor tanks for the tyre inflation system - Mercedes' 7G tranmission is fitted as standard - Torque is nominally split 30:40:30 - The wheels measure 37in in diameter and are 12.5in wide - The differential locks offer 100 per cent lock-up of all six wheels - The G63 AMG 6x6 is 1106mm longer, 225mm wider and 272mm higher than the standard G63 AMG - Fuel economy is likely to be in the region of 15mpg and production cars will have two fuel tanks Read the full review here; http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/...t-drive-review

I think they should have created a twin turbo diesel instead, that's not to say the 5.5 biturbo engine isn't good enough, but diesel engines just produce so much more torque...
