Surprise party dilemma, need opinions
So I got this invite in the mail from a friend of one of my coworkers. Its a surprise party and its being held on the 15th of this month which gives me two weeks to decide what I want to do.
Ive only been working with this person for 4 months since I started the job. Shes very cool and is the office manager. So I wouldnt mind going(especially since she has pretty hot friends). However, the invite specifically asked for $50 ahead of time(sent to party planner) or brought to the door(to cover costs DJ, catering and sprits). Now, I dont know about you, but thats a lot of money per person since this is being held at someones house. I can understand if they rented a bar or club out, but its not. Secondly, I dont drink, so I know most of that money is going to alcohol. I kind of feel cheated on this. And lastly, if I do go, do I bring a gift on top of that $50 Im supposed to donate?

That would work, but probably not believable. Yet people do understand that shit does come up... just say its your cousin's bday party or some crap and give the gift at work the next week...
you should be fine....i mean it works for me usually
