Can knife experts recommend a good web site and or a specific automatic knife for me. Thank you.

MicroTech and BenchMade are 2 that come to mind. Don't know if auto's are legal in Mass.

Can't go wrong with Benchmade, but they come with a price. I carry a Gerber assisted opening Answer FAST and it's survived a deployment to Afghanistan and daily carry. It isn't auto opening, but assisted is close enough and legal. I also love the side locking/unlocking mechanism, no fingers in the blade path.

The Benchmade Infidel OTF knives are great... don't think you can buy them unless you are a LEO or Military though.. But you can probably find them somewhere online or Craigslist or something...
http://www.knifecenter.com/item/BM33...le-Edge-Dagger I also have one of these and love it. Has lasted me many years, and 3 deployments... http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/BM9...mbo-Edge-Blade

Not illegal to own in Florida, but illegal to carry without a CWP.

I have a Kershaw Launch 4, it's an auto knife but with a 2" blade so it's even legal to own in CA.

I carried a Benchmade for my duty knife for decades, I love it....it's a bit big for a daily carry so know I have a Kershaw assisted open. Excellent knife, my wife liked it so much I got her one too.

I've beat up on my Benchmade for years at work. Microtechs are nice too but I'm afraid to use it to pick doors. lol

Didn't realize at first this was a zombie thread that was reinvigorated, lol
But to expand upon my post, I'm a bit of a knife snob. I have a different blade for different purposes. Just like our wheels, there's the haulers and the fun rides. Everything has its place. There's no one shoe for all occasions. upstatedoc Your message box is full! But anyways... The G&G Hawk? It is possible, but a little bit of a process. They're covetted and it's a father & son team/business that makes these. Each is hand made, fitted and adjusted. The blade has absolutely ZERO play when extended. They're a bit on the upper side of expense, but they're worth it if you appreciate art & function! To obtain one, you need to register with their website and wait for them to open another batch (production). You'll be notified by email or text, then you need to get online fairly quickly and hope you get an order. Max 2 per person. Lol. And there's limited options as well which is unfortunate as I would like some exotic steel for the balde material. But it's ok otherwise. Having the G&G in hand lets you know how perfect this balde is. I love it, so much so I'm now getting another to pair it up with... Here's the link, good luck! http://www.hawkknifedesigns.com |

The SOG is a great knife. Nice and thin and durable as heck. Here is where to go to see if autos are legal in your state.
