Looks like BMW is more an SUV company, than a sedan company lately. 3-series and 5-series both are down again.

Last month's sales figures: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=810563

Curious to know why BMW is doing so well this year.

Is it because of more models? Better lease rates? The decline of another brand? I am just curious.

The X1 is cannibalizing the sales of the other series. The 1 series is doing bad simply for the fact it hasn't been updated yet and why get that when the lease is better on the Z4 and 3 series?

Prices have gone up considerably on the 1,3 @ 5 that it makes more sense to buy another brand that is roomier and more reliable for the same or lesser amount . The issues that are documented over the years with the various models eventually drove some buyers away. Smart Buyers are doing more research now than ever, and with all the forums available at our fingertips we are better equipped to make the best decision that fit our needs.

Looks like BMW beat Mercedes for the month, but Mercedes still leads YTD. The C-class has a good shot at beating the 3-series in sales for the year.

3 Series only has a sedan now, no coupe. When the 4 Series hits they'll make up the numbers. But it's good to see that the same haters gonna hate. lol

The 3 is up something like 20% from last month. It will build momentum with the 320, GT, wagon, and unsure if they are going to count 4 series coupes or break it out separately.

Last time I checked, the 2013 3-series coupe was still for sale.

Correct.

Though people are aware it's a platform behind with a new model replacing it.

Without good money on the hood, that does not do wonders for sales lol.

True, therefore my guess is that BMW dealers would be offering some pretty good deals to clear out all of their 3-series coupes before the 4-series arrived. I would think this should help boost overall 3-series sales, not hurt it.

Dealer to dealer specific. Some will throw money at the car, others may not. Its all conjecture.

Some people will not buy something like a BMW if its deemed old regardless of discounts. Many want the latest and greatest.

So the 4 series may very will do better for BMW than closeouts on the e92/3.

agreed have had lots of clients who are holding off for a 4. This is pretty much the norm for a build out. Also noticed allocation is down for the current coupe.

Sales for the 3-Series isn't too concerning. Going back to 2010, Q1 sales are low and then it starts ramping up with the bulk of sales coming in during Christmas.

BMW is offering very good deals on the coupes. I traded my F30 328i in at the dealership where I work for a 335i coupe and dropped my payment a good amount and I had a little negative equity on my F30. We are also not getting any where near the amount of coupes we used to get in on a daily basis. I hate to say it but I really disliked my F30.
