Delivering food in a nice car = less TIPS?

Well

If the food delivery person was driving a BMW would you give less TIP then you originally would?

I'm saying this because my parents said if you deliver in a nice car you might not get as much TIP because the customer thinks "eww this guy is the boss and has money who cars about much TIP" What are the chances of food delivery person delivering food in a nice car?

lol, I really won't know what to do. I might feel a bit embarrassed tipping him. I mean he might think "who the phuck do you think you are tipping? Don't you know I drive a BMW?"

I actually prefer the taste of food when it travels in premium German vehicle like an F30 so I would likely tip more

I'm not sure how I'd react. But its probably a higher chance of some teenager getting into it and trying to stealing it.... LOL

For me, it is all about the service. The gentlemen at my local pizza spot are fantastic so I tip them every time that I pick up a pizza. If you provided me the same quality of service, then you would receive the same tip regardless of the car that you drive.

I'd probably tip the same, because the tip is for service and not socioeconomic status.

My teenage nephew delivers pizzas in his father's M3. He has never complained about tips when speaking of his job.

I usually have the tip ready to go before they get there so I won't be making a decision in front of them. Whether they be a hot chick or driving a jalopy.

One would think this would almost be the case.

I strongly suspect dad pays for the gas.

When i met my wife she had just bought a pizza shop. So if i was going to see her i was going to be hanging at the shop. After a while it didn't make any sense for her to pay a driver if i was going to be there. So i started delivering pizzas in my E46 LSB M3, lowered with exhaust.

I always got good tips. There was only one time when the guy was counting out 1s for the tip and i saw his eyes cut over to my car and he took a buck back. haha But that was the only time it was visible. I even had people, our regulars, give me $25 tips during the holidays. When someone would say something about it they would usually say "you need those tips to pay that car payment!" .... I just laughed and agreed!

I'm pretty sure i hold some type of pizza record with regards to the fastest pizza speed in a car... Hit 153 once on a delivery, it was outside our normal area and i had to get on the interstate to get there. No traffic at that time meant triple digit speeds!

Most people were cool and tipped well. Although, we didn't deliver to rich people. Her shop was in a blue collar neighborhood and even when we delivered to the ghetto they still tipped well. Rich people would probably not tip as well with nicer delivery cars, just a gut feeling.

If i had to say one way or the other i would say i got better tips due to the "cool blue car". Number 1 question i got from customers.... "where did you get it painted?" Soooo many people thought it was custom paint.

no difference here, can't even see the driveway from my door, and i usually manipulate the price so that my total cost (after tip) rounds out to an even number, like $20. keeps everything quick and simple, and i have many twenties.

A motivated driver can make a lot of money delivering pizza, far more than a lot of entry level jobs requiring a four year degree.

Seen at a local shop last year:

I tip based on how late he is.
If he is early, 20%, on time 15%, late 10%, messed up my order (he forgot my twisty bread) or unbelievably rude he gets 1$.
AFAIK, it is the delivery guy's job to check he has everything before he sets out, no?
