GTR hack job

This is a thread that's going on over at gtrlife, essentially a vendor has completely ripped off a customer. I only post this since I know a few guys with M3's that have gone to this particular shop for some work. Also highlights how difficult it is to choose the right shop. I didn't want to post in the vendor section since they are not a vendor on M3post.

WOW! And this is why I love forums! Its great when someone exposes a shop for what they really are. Well documented. GL to him with whatever he does now. Hope that company pays one way or another. I wouldn't let them touch my nephews legos.

Wow, with all that money the guy spend only to end up with a broken non functioning GTR with zero resale value, he could have just gone out and gotten himself an Aventador or 458 Italia instead.

That blows!!!
My question is why did he take it there in the first place?? He's from Miami... There are several good shops in south Florida. Serious AutoSport is a couple miles from my house (west palm beach) and they built a sweet GT-R with a Switzer Performance kit (1000hp on race gas) I've been for a ride in it, and it is so smooth.

Terrible. But at the same time, why did the owner wait so damn long? 2 years to build a car?

And those pictures are horrific. That is a hell of hack job those guys did on that GTR

Sounds like that shop took a page from the Hennessey book on how to screw customers.

Shit like this makes me rage. I sent a tip to Jalopnik with the hopes that they get an article going. They do a fantastic job of blowing up infamous reputations.

Hate to see stories like this, but honestly its nearly as much the owners fault as it is the shop's. If you read the full story there were a number of occasions where the owner could have and should have taken back his car and taken it elsewhere. Sounds like a case of more money than sense. Sucks what that shop did to his car, but come on . . . after the first 40k and no results, half a year overdue, etc. no way in hell would I be leaving my car there.

Do not blame the victim. You do not know what tricks and lies have been fed. Psychology can get a long way at manipulating even smart people. The only responsible person this is the crook.

Wow, what a rip. Hell, if I had a disposable quarter of a million, I'd have taken it to Foose.

Does anyone know if its so bad it wouldn't be worth it to reverse the hack job. I don't know much about the gtr, but I can't imagine the parts or labor is cheap. For the money this guy put in it though, why not get something reliable and stupid fast like a ugr Lamborghini.

I know Sharif personally and he is a great guy, but to allow a car to leave FP in this kind of condition is simply inexcusable. He worked on my GT-R and did a great job and always answered the phone or replied via email very quickly if I had a question; (my car was not a huge hp build however, more of a track car). I suspect that business has probably boomed and new hires aren't as well trained as previous employees; maybe there's way more to it, I don't know. I just feel sick for the owner and I hope something can be done to savage this unfortunate incident.

I hate to be a prick, but I agree with you guys. That's the first thing I thought when I was done reading his post. I don't know what's worse: 2 years or dropping 250k. I would have pulled the plug after a couple of months, if I even had the patience to wait that long.

I'd have to agree.

That's like getting into a bar fight and saying "Gee, maybe if I let this guy punch me in the face over and over he'll buy me a beer?'
