I kinda like how starting now the even numbers will mean 2 doors and the odd numbers will mean 4 doors. Well, at least for the cars.

To OP, I dont hate it, but for sure I actually don't quite welcome it. The 2, 4, and 6 are coupes but basically share same if not similar chassis as the 1, 3, and 5/7 (i forgot which one it shares with, could be unique but i actually don't think so). But because they are 1 series "higher," bmw can now jack up the price and charge for more. It is all part of marketing you see. I dont know... i can be wrong. And i never liked the idea of a M4... haha. Wonder when they're going to fill X2, 4, and 7?

I don't mind that they are expanding to produce a 2 and 4 series. My problem is that they aren't really different models and don't necessarily deserve a separate designation.
Coupe, sedan, and convertible versions of the same model are good enough for me. |

LoL, I can't believe this thread turned into grammar wars!
BTW, the numbering seems logical, so I don't see what the problem is. The 6 series has been out for awhile and everyone knows it shares the same platform as the 5 series. I'd say the more confusing part is the GRAN COUPE. Plus, they've always charged more for the coupe, so making it an even number doesn't inflate the price any more. |

Bmw vs everybody else
Well, in my opinion BMW is doing what HAS to be done in order to survive the market pressures ( Korea, Japan and let's not kid ourselves soon China )
and on the other hand Merc, Audi, VW. In order to be out there YOU as a company have to provide an option to the customer in which he ( the customer ) will choose " the toy " of his needs. SO the latest BMW newcommers are just the answers to the competition, that is all. I believe that today it is the ONLY way to go orrrr.... be forgotten. 3, 5 , and 7 are the thing of the past, I like where this is heading, more choice, more value, better deals ( for us ) future looks not bad. |

I think Car & Driver said there are now 21 different variations of the 911. This is the future of auto making. Small boutique companies (think Mazda) will not survive.
Although I am the first person who agrees with the OP. It is a shame and i feel the passion that used to go into new models has been replaced with the attitude that a car company must be all things to all people. I remember the outrage when Porsche introduced an SUV. The mere thought of the idea was treasonous. Now, it's no big deal. The only car company I'm really interested in right now is Tesla. They have some very innovative technology and my god do they make a beautiful car. |

By and large, this forum is a grammatical nightmare.

As to the OP's sentiment, choice is good. Ultimately, BMW is giving their line-up a much needed refresh. The 3, 5, and 7 series are almost 40 years old. |

[QUOTE=JasonDCarton;14107246]Well if it bothers you that much you can fix it by doing something about it by helping younger generations , donate some time with your at your local boys and girls club instead of just complaining about how it bothers you. I hear it's better to donate time and be positive instead of negative.
Red = Add Blue = Remove Thank you I knew since the 8/9th grade I wasn't into grammar and English so I focused on what I enjoy and that's given me the stuff that I want. I Have no problem with constructive criticism there is always someone who knows more about something then someone else its the people who just complain that gets me. Teach don't whine cause somethings wrong grow some balls and help a person out. Whiners are not leaders they just complain when somethings wrong. Now as the younger crowds don't seem to learn growing up after the internet was invented you should keep you pages a bit more private your photos of underage drinking and naked intoxication never leaves the internet even when you delete it those pictures will always be there take if from all the people who have been prosecuted using Myspace, Facebook, instragram, google+, email and even you own txts they are all kept. Last this is a BMW forum for people who love German Cars not English Literature if that's what you like go join one of those forums and keep your cattiness to yourselves. This forum has Mechanics, Auto Body Specialist, people that own those businesses and have never been to college, Engineers, Mathematicians, English majors, Construction workers and company owners. Heck I came into this forum to see what people had to say about Germany bringing more of the models to USA and about 4 posts down a comment about grammar and nothing about the heading if you don't like the OP's subject move one save your boredom and 3.5posts a day for your own thread. You know what they say if you don't like something just don't comment move on unless your gonna chime in about the conversation. Last edited by BLKSAPPE92; 06-05-2013 at 12:07 AM.. |

I think it will be the downfall of the brand as we know it personally. Sure there is more choice, but there will also be more waste, and expenses will be enormous... and again, with all of the other options... who knows if revenues can counter those expenses...
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 x1, x2, x3, x5, i8 oh, and don't forget that there will be gran coupes, and sedans, and coupes, and hatches... oh right, and "M" versions of cars that aren't really M cars ... and of course, the ACTUAL M cars. IMO, its just TOO MUCH
