Last of Us: PS3 Game of the Year
Just played the "Last of Us" demo and was so impressed I pre-ordered it. It's already getting "game of the year" buzz which many had given to Bioshock Infinite; another solid game in my opinion. This one should satisfy my zombie apocalypse fix until the Walking Dead returns.

You first need to get a copy of God of War: Ascension, which you can Redbox or borrow from a friend if you don't already have it. From the main menu you can then download the demo from the PSN (132 mb I believe) and return the GOW disk. I believe that's the only way you can get it.

well, im a probably just borrow it from a friend so I don't waste my money on it .. lol
Picked up The last of US on the 14th.. and OMG what a game. Its exactly what I was looking forward to.. its basically a Zombie version to Uncharted!! lol Very sharp graphics, the story is pretty interesting, and some pretty intense moments in the gameplay. Hands down one of my favorite games to date. |

I'm 8 hours it but only about 30% complete. I'm taking my time because I love the story and the graphics are the most impressive I've seen to date - with minor hiccups noticeable on my 60-inch. I slow down every time Ellie starts talking so I can watch how the characters interact. I also love the combat system and how stealth kills are more advantageous than shootouts. I really hope this is the future of survival gaming in the next generation.

*SPOILER* I got to put it out there and say the highest thrill of the game was the part where Joel fell down the hotel elevator and has to start the generator and find the key card... lol, im hoping it isnt just me |

You are in for a wild ride. I love the winter segment. I finished the game a couple of days ago and unlocked survival mode; it took 22 hours! Such a heavy story that weighs on you long after finishing the game. I really hope this is a glimpse of the next generation. On a side note, this game truly taxes the limits of the PS3. Many players with the older "fat" version of the system reported freezes and louder than usual fan noises.

I've played through it twice, once on normal (23 hours) and then on hard + (19 hours). Still haven't upgraded everything which goes to show how rare resources are. I'm going to play through it again this week on survival + and see if I can max out weapon upgrades. I want to do a lot more shooting this time. Don't plan on getting much else done.

Graphics are the most impressive to date. Anybody noticed the lighting dynamics when using the flashlight? The ambient light turns colors based on what you are pointing the light at.

Yeah just truly incredible.
took 17 hours on the first run on normal. About 70% done on the second run and it still scares the shit out of me sometimes especially after the elevator fall. I've almost topped up on all the mods.

I know I'm not bringing anything new to the table, as you've all summed it up so well....but this game is legit amazing. One of, if not the best games I've ever played. Up there with Bioshock, MGS, and Skyrim.
Haven't been able to play in a few days now, but since I telecommute on Fridays, I foresee a late night tonight on my couch with my ps3!
