Shipping help
Im trying to ship a car from Montana to boston and I need some general help on where to begin. Googling "car transport" turns up tons of shady looking shipping brokerages and middlemen. Are there carriers I can call directly? What about recommended brokerages?
It's for 2006 jeep wrangler so cost effective but reliable shipping is the goal, this is not delicate or precious cargo, and it definitely can go on an open transport. Thanks in advance for the input. |

I just shipped my car ('94 Saab) today (honest) using AmeriFreight. Painless, cheap, above-board, and somehow I managed the *standby* status and still got picked up the day after I submitted the order. I used transportreviews.com to figure out who to go with. I've used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) and been unhappy. AmeriFreight is just a broker, but having previously dealt with going directly to the carriers, I'd choose the broker every time. If you care, find someone that will offer the AFta gap coverage. Lots of info online about that.
July is an especially busy month for car transport because lots of people move during this month to be in time for the new school year. You should be able to find good rates through a broker.
