speed cameras on i684?
hello, I was driving down I684 in NY and noticed a bunch of these cameras. are these cameras that will catch your speed?

They are traffic cameras. They're all over 95.

thats what i was wondering? There are so many of them, i thought maybe the police used them to see how fast you got from one camera to the next and then they would know you were speeding. I dont know why they need like 10 traffic cameras in a row

They are used by the DOT to monitor traffic and update those digital signs. Sites like sigalert also use those and put the images on their site. They do not have radar or lidar so let's all calm down. That road is not very long and I travel it frequently, often well above the speed limit, and can guarantee that those are not speed trap cameras. As I said earlier, they are also all over 95 as well and are definitely NOT speed cameras.
