New to the forum...
Just wanted to say hi as I am new to the forum. I’ve been reading/lurking for a couple of weeks now -- picking up as much info as I can about BMW. Gained some great insight into the car! I’m totally souped to pick up my e92 …the wait is killing me! I ordered three weeks ago I’m hoping to get it by early November. Vehicle is currently “Awaiting transport.”
I thought I would be a lifetime Subaru driver but I decided that I need something much more refined, stylish and classier...but still sporty. My previous Subaru Sti and WRX were highly modified and they were awesome to drive…especially the Sti. I sold it and miss it already! I remember when the 335i came out …and a few times I went at it with one of them-- I was very impressed with the power/handling of that car. It is truly a wicked ride. Keeping with the AWD theme I went for the xi with my 328. I am looking fwd to the comfort/piece of mind of the xdrive but now I am worrying about it sitting too high. Does it really look that crappy?? I’m almost tempted in the next few months to go with this setup: 1) 18 x 8.0 Silver M6 wheels and get either the HR sport springs KW or coilovers to drop it. I’m a bit hesitant since I don’t want to mess up the AWD suspension…does anyone have any input on i) how this negatively affects the AWD component and ii) how much I should lower the car by (don’t want a staggered setup – just nice, clean look with the 18s and no rubbing!!) Or, I was just thinking of lowering and not changing the 17s that come stock. I"m a bit confused about the offset as well...33 all the way round seems to be the preferred setup for the e92. I dont want anything too aggressive! I didn’t go with the ZSP or Navi – but I just bought a Garmin Nuvi 660 in prep. I have also gone crazy buying other stuff in anticipation – I never knew BMW had such a great aftermarket product line up…coming from a Subaru this is great!! I definitely plan on buying the painted TiAg reflectors, chrome tips, customized floor mats, stealth bulbs and then still I’m still deciding with the wheels/tires/springs. Might also do an interior light mod as well. Anyhow, sorry this was so long…I can’t wait for the car to come!! The BMW is such a perfect blend of style, sport, and refinement

 Where in NJ are you taking delivery? My 335i is currently "awaiting transport" status too and my CA told me I should expect it around beginning of Nov... |
