Thanks bumere90!
I was guessing it was a "control" label.
I purchased some Russian Military Ammunition that was manufactured in the 70's. Im guessing the 1973 is the date? It came in a heavy duty wooded crate that contains 2 sealed spam cans of ammo and a can opener. The quality of the packaging is off the chart. I find it pretty cool to be holding something that was made in the cold war era.

You know that Russian cool war crap will foul your gun. You need to clean your gun after this shooting this stuff ever so many rounds. I seen more people guns jam up at the range after firing a number of these Russian made rounds.

Hello Maestro!
Yes, everyone knows old ammo runs dirty and its corrosive. Hense why back in 1953 they introduced chrome lined barrels.
Second, it must be amateur night at your range. If they use Sks/AK's/Rommaks/dragonavs russian ammo barely has any effects on these weapons.
Last, I know better and to be on the safe side, i bring a bore snake and some oil, after 50 rds fired, i clean the barrel.
No problems in mine camp

I went thought 300 rounds of Russian made ammo in my AR this past weekend. No problems.

Especially no problem in an AK.

Cool pics! My Russian ammo is wrapped up in paper the same way.

440 bullets in each box (you probably have figured it out already lol)
Укладчица пакетов Packing lady N1
7.62ЛПС.ГЖ means light bullets with steal heart? made strictly for combat/military. Extremely hard to find in Russia. Only the government can release these to the military.

It not the barrel filing but the semi automatic action getting gunk up.

Never really heard of that. My nephew has and AR, shot several hundred rounds a year since 2001 and just this past month figured out that he needed to clean the bolt carrier group. We're talking 3500 some odd rounds, many of them russian made, without cleaning anything but the barrel and chamber. Not a single misfire or malfunction.

It was pretty dirty, but was still working fine an showed no signs of possible malfunctions.
