Yeah I wouldn't want this on my car personally, but the technology is pretty amazing!

It got really popular on LS1Tech for a while. You can find a vendor there.

I think it might look cool for small things? Like helmets or interior trim. I didn't know it has been around for awhile. I heard you can buy it all on ebay. I might try it out just for fun

This exactly.

I had someone do my phone case in CF back in MI and I ended up getting cheap CF vinyl from Autozone to cover it.

Also, it only lasts if you clear the hell out of it, mine seemed to scratch real easily.

I think if you're going for a carbon fiber look it looks cheap but other patterns may not. Also, I believe this is what all the realtree camo stuff is done in

Yeah this stuff has been around along time, it was developed for the military so they can easily camo stuff. This exactly how they Camo the guns these days. I do believe you have to seal the stuff otherwise it will wear off pretty easily.

Yeah, up close it is marginal. I had the electronic covers on my boat (GPS, VHF Radio) done in CF and it is fine that but I would not do wheels or items of that nature. There are a ton of colors and pattern choices. The guy that did mine also does engine parts (plastic motor covers, etc), helmets, guns, and a few other things. He did clear coat my electronic covers.

Fun to watch, but I'd never actually use it for anything. I suppose it's useful if you need a very detailed and elaborate pattern over a very irregular surface. Someone mentioned camo on a gun- seems ideal for something like a complex woodland pattern.

A lot of the car companies use it to make that lovely looking wood grain, Chevrolet for example.
