I'm not quite sure what's up with all the E60 doors being cracked open. I wonder if they all have the door ajar warning going off.

Yes... and in Japan, big Mercedes are usually associated with the criminal underworld (Yakuza).

This clip is when the president visited Hong Kong, at Hong Kong International Airport. The little bowtie dude standing next to him is the Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang. So these BMW 7 Series should be provided by HK Government with safety features. I can also sorta see the yellow rear licence plate, which is what HK uses now.

Some of the body guards are from Hong Kong Police Department special VIP division, but the ones standing right next to the 7'er. Should be from China Government.

yes, during the WTO meeting in Hong Kong earlier this year, BMW sponsored the event with armoured BMW 7series for all the VIPs from around the world, Chinese governments don't ride in BMWs in China, its mostly Audi's and Mercedes S classes, but in Hong Kong, we like BMWs more
Mercedes S classes are known to be more popular with terrorists and dictators LOL!

Hong Kong Government tends to prefer BMWs these couple years when it comes to VIP transport.
In December 2005, for WTO ministerial meeting, Hong Kong Government as the host. Got more than TWO HUNDRED 7 series for VIP chauffer. And this time, the Chinese President visited and they picked BMW again! GOOD CHOICE!!! However, when it comes to own government use. They bought like hundreds of Hyundai Sonata for various government department use.

Actually the few days before the WTO meeting, I passed by the open ground near harbour side at Admiralty, next to the military base. I saw the government parked like 200-300 BMW 7 series there!!! WHAT A SCENE!!!

Are those cars LHD or RHD? If RHD then they are from the HK government. Cars from China are all LHD. Also that I couldn't see the license plates too well. Are they Chinese plates (starts with a Chinese charactor) or HK plates?

The first 5 series you see following the 7 series, seems like start with "LM".... ALL these cars should be RHD, coz you see the only door shut on the 5'er is the right front ones. As I assume the driver is always stay with the car and three body guards (or HK Police G4 VIP bodyguards) in one car. I also see there's an X5 in the front! And a bunch of motorcycles (could be either Honda's or BMW's bikes), with a VW passat wagon police car lead the way! With the high import tax of HK Government, they can afford all the bimmers they want!!!
