Big Night Tonight

Very excited for New Years Eve and the celebration party tonight. That being said I feel a bit down because last New Years I lost a friend to a drunk driver in a head on collision.

We have seen plenty of threads on here of idiot drunk drivers wrecking our cars etc... I think the stats speak for themselves as far as fatalities and DUI infractions on New Years Eve, this is the most dangerous night for both.

I don't mean to be a downer with this thread, just be careful tonight with lots of idiots out there and like I said the stats do not lie. Just a friendly reminder before the liquid courage...

Have a great night and have fun! Cheers

RIP GR

Sorry for your loss, but you don't need to post personal stuff like that on here. Especially in this thread or forum. Just tell us to be careful.

This is a car forum. There is no sign of disrespect FYI. Reread the post. Simply just saying that you don't need to share personal things like that.

Wise words... and very true. Be careful and have fun tonight!

I appreciate the "personal stuff" - and it's good to share stories like these if it means potentially helping save another life. Thanks for sharing and sorry for your loss.

Have a Happy New Year guys!

RIP to your friend OP. I'm sorry for your loss. Calling a cab is cheaper than the most minor damage to your BMW let alone other people affected! Stay safe out there ladies and gents.

Sorry for your loss. A great personal report for all vehicle drivers to be safe tonight! Don't drink and drive at all and even if driving sober late tonight be extremely defensive.

Had two friends get hit by a drunk driver fleeing from cops after being pulled over. Hit them head on. One had some minor scratches, the other is in a medically induced coma to try and relieve pressure from her brain along with many other injuries. The drunk driver? Of course only scrapes...

This happened when they were heading to our party at a friends house, they were only 1/2 mile away. Both girls are amazing people and I'm hoping/praying the other comes out ok.

Frick - my sympathies to you and especially to your two friends - hope she makes it through with a full recovery.

Sad thing is, they'll probably do nothing with that clown, in spite of all his priors. Infuriarating.

He's Mexican, only thing they could probably get out of him is a lawn mower, some hedge trimmers, and a few pesos.

My heart goes out to both involved. I also have lost a good friend of mine to a head on collision from a drunk driver operating the wrong way on a freeway exit ramp, it's a situation that somehow the good end up on the bad receiving end.

With that being said, be safe every night, regardless of the time of year, the danger is always prevalent.
