M4 or Z/28?
The upcoming Camaro Z/28 looks as though it can thoroughly embarrass an M4 around a road course, but the Z/28 is obviously nowhere close to the M4 in regards to luxury, refinement, and livability. What's the right car for you?

I bought a 14 Shelby mustang and absolutely love it over BMW. That said I'd rather have the new z28 over the m4 but not over my car unless I was tracking it all the time which I never do but I think the z28 is overpriced for what you get and I too would wait for the c7 zo6. That's the Real deal but it's going to cost even more.

Agreed with everyone else. Z28 is a track car. I wouldn't even considerate it a weekend car. The m4 is a practical DD (or weekend driver) with a reasonable combination of luxury and sport. m4 for me if you are only between those 2 options.
There are other cars but it depends on what your needs/requirements are.

I have a friend who daily drives a ZL1 Camaro and finds it very, very good. The Z28 will be harsher, but it will be doable. It will blow the M4 out of the water in all performance categories.
If you don't need two extra seats, I say the C7 Z06 would be your best bet. All signs point to a top ten Nurburgring finish.

I'd take an M4 every single time in this scenario, regardless of performance. Honestly, I'd rather have a new E92 M3 coupe than either but that is still my ultimate dream car.

The M4 sounds like ass. That is a bigger negative than any interior quality complaints on the Z28.

I'd take the M4 because it has a great interior, plenty of speed and I'm a muscle car guy. Hell, I own an SRT8 Challenger, but between the two, I'd take the Bimmer. But the Z/28 is just too brutal - thinned glass, radio delete, etc. That LS7 is a hell of a motor, though. My dad's got a Z06 and I love driving that thing.
Now, the ZL1 might be a harder decision, because that's a hell of a car and it has the muscle car panache that I personally like. Now, if you need a dedicated track car, that Z/28 would be hard to beat.

For me: Neither.
I'd buy a 235 or a Mini and take the rest of the money and buy a dedicated track car. I can't answer for anyone else. Most opinions seem to be right on the money. The Z28 is pretty much a serious track toy that can be driven on the street, so it'd depend on how much of a hardcore driver you are. You may be able to drive it daily. I am pretty certain I could drive it daily. Then again, an Ariel Atom would be my dream car for a daily driver if that gives you any indication of what I like. The M4 will be more dual-purpose. Much more comfortable on the street and will definitely be able to play on the track.
