That is a freakin' orgasmic video! Thanks for sharing and good find. If not for 2 cars he has to pass it might've been 7:20!

I wouldn't exactly call a supercharger "light mods". You don't go from 350 hp at the crank to 530 hp at the wheels with "light mods".
But anyway, it was a cool video. Impressive.

Funny, I just saw that video this morning. I had a few reactions -
- the sound is un-f-ing-believable, just sick - that car sticks to the track like glue - amazing how well PS2 Gran Turismo has modeled the Ring ![]() - he probably lost a second or so at the end there with the VW(?) in the way

Not to rain on people's parade...but...that's not an entirely fair or true statement that it "beat" the Zonda F as fastest car around the 'Ring...because there are lots of other cars that are even faster than both.
Zonda F is still the fastest road legal production car on the 'Ring. While this souped up M3 is faster, it isn't a production model--it has been modified from the M3 CSL which is the real production model. Besides...if you really mod the M3...the M3 GTR can do the 'Ring in 7:12. And if you account for production non-road legal cars like the Radical SR8...it can do the 'Ring in 6:55. Just saying... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordsch...test_lap_times |

I had the same reaction as E90ice (and others) in that it isn't "slightly" modified - it's blown and understanding that I immediately realized I wasn't seeing a stock M3 lap the ring.
However, I'm a 'ring lap video junkie and that is one of my favorite videos. I think I could close my eyes and get off on the sound only.

M3 GTR is not road legal, and the I think that although you can call the Zonda "production", the production numbers involved are so small as to make the distinction between production and non production insignificant in this case, IMO. |

WOW that was absolutely amazing. It is a road legal car which makes it even more impressive. If it wasn't for traffic I'm sure he would have shaved a few more seconds OFF.
