Its a new take on the M5. This is what it should have been. Don't think it is a M560e but its more on that direction than old school M5.

the way i read this is BMW made a very fast heavy GT car...

unfortunately for everyone... a lot of those options already exist... what doesn't exist is a dynamic larger car like the older M5 which BMW was known far.... i guess everyone can interpret that how they want and choose accordingly

My friend the car is as dynamic as the old one
Go drive one and push it and let me know how it handles the corners
Yes when u push it hard u can feel the weight but it is still handles well and it is more fun then the old car whether people like it ir not
People are scared to push it because they know the weight and it feels huge when driving it
The only thing is the brakjng u need ccbs for track but not for streets
If calling it 560e make people feel better then it is a fast m5 like handling, fast comfortable 560e

Its more dynamic than a pure GT car. Its like I said, its somewhere in between a F90 and a M760Li. Its pretty good. I quite liked it

This is the same circlejerk that happens with each new model…it is tradition. We all love E30s because they are raw, yes, but also because they define their era, and it is an era we look back fondly on.

The G90/99 will be no different. In fact, the less loved it is in its heyday, the more loved it will be in the future.

I get, personally, why the F90s are loved by many. At the same time, I find them to be kind of boring and derivative. I think both cars will end up very appreciated over the balance of time.

It’s an m5 no doubt, I could have been blindfolded and recognized it’s a real M not a m lite. People who know just know…

You say that and the attitude is essentially that BMW can’t make a mistake. Quite the assumption.

I believe that 90-99% of responses here that are in the negative are by people that have zero seat time. I was in the same camp and have been lucky enough to own many of the M5 iterations with last stint being F90. It’s a unique car that if driven will change mind set.

I get what you are talking about but we do not need a 2.5 ton hybrid M5, most of the M5 owners do not take their cars to the track so they are not seeking 700hp so their is no need to have the hybrid system in the car

I don't think the Rs6 and Gt63 are really comps for this car but more so its predecessor at this point and how it compares... the Rs6 to me is just not an impressive car overall and never has been. It would also be very interesting to see this thing hustle around some turns vs the older M5... we may not see that tho
My Stock 16 m235i runs and 11.8 1/4 mile embarrassing for the M5.

320hp + 3700lbs and it runs 11.8 stock? Are you sure? Why are people running 13's here https://www.dragtimes.com/BMW--M235i-Drag-Racing.html

Driver mod possibly it’s an under rated car forsure. I know it’s not over 13 high 12s there’s multiple sources the rwd does it under 11 sec.

Sorry but the hp+weight specs just don't add up to a high 11 second car, two of the guys running 11.6 on that page are with a jb4.

C&D got a 13.2 https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...d-test-review/ and you know C&D usually has the quickest times.
