You may be right about appreciating but at least as you said it will hold value
Porsche changed things lately and some models became harder to get and the prices keep going up and people still buying them for some reason lol
If it wasnt for the c8 corvette look , the zo6 convertible is a bargain and sounds amazing but i hate the look of the c8 , it is like a cheap ferrari (my opinion) and i am sure the spyder RS is more engaging and sounds better and has better gearbox and handling

Spider RS would not be a bad idea probably the last of its kind and unique but 200k+ for a 10 year old interior would give me pause. I’d just buy a manual 992 touring for the same money
I had a 911 that drank a quart every three fill ups.
In 2009 Porsche introduced DFI and the oil consumption was part of the design.

This post made me think that if you have McLaren or some fast toy sports car, you all of a sudden forgive the M5 all of its flaws and can focus on the positives, perhaps. Like it no longer needs to do everything good (like being light weight or as nice inside). It does something better than the predecessor, something not as good, but on balance its new car, new tech, easy.

Its very easy to be some long die hard bmw guy that only ever remembers his E39 or whatever, and have criticism in store for pretty much everything that comes after. But thats a sad way to live life.

Honestly, this was exactly what I was thinking and you have put it eloquently. It's near impossible to have a fast, light, and 4d sports car with todays regulations in mind. The M5 has grown on me considerably in the week I've owned it. For me I usually love the car at first and then slowly stop loving it as I drive it more but this odd duck of a car has me thinking differently. My cayenne turbo coupe checked all the boxes but after a while I realized I spent 200k+ on a flawed vehicle. At least it wasn't like my Audi RS7 man that car was a MISTAKE
